Capsules can sometimes be opened and mixed with sugar(check with your doctor first) My mom always did that with me.

Also, putting it in a spoonful jello or pudding may help

No need to crush pills - you can now get ADHD meds in a patch like those nicotine patches that sends the drug through the skin! It's called Daytrana (see the link). I think there's also a medication in liquid form now for easy swallowing, but that may not be available yet.

As long as it is not extended release the tablet can be crushed or the capsule opened and put in applesauce. I had the same problem, my daughter took Metadate when she was young because I could open the capsule. When she got older we switched to Concerta, but by then, she was used to the pill and took it. She has adhd, and went off meds when she was 12. Good Luck. I know what you are going through.

Try seeing if you can get your doctor to give you the dosage in two pills. Like half the dosage in one pill, half in another. This would make him have to take 2 pills, but, they would be smaller. or, have him put it on the FAR back of his tongue, and take a BIG BIG BIG drink, swallow quick and flick his head back at the same time. I would suggest smashing it up and putting it in a drink or a sandwich, however, you cannot do that with ADD/ADHD meds. ( I am on Concerta for my ADD)

well i have found that if you put it in the applesauce it will go down, first try without crushing it, cause it may give off a bad taste, but i have found in hospitals, and nursing homes, that this is one of the ways that they are helping people to be able to swallow their meds.

if its a pill you can crush it and mix it wit some sugar and give it to him with a spoon!
