From what I have seen, usually the symptoms are more physical than emotional. My brother is intolerant to alcohol and is an active alcoholic (yeah yeah i know)
He says he throws up blood and has migraines (hangovers)all the time.
Alcohol causes dehydration and is a mood depressant and if you are more prone to it than most, you will get drunk more easily and the effects will be more severe.

I knew someone who had alcohol intolerance. It was like a physical allergy to alcohol. He didn't drink a lot or often, and only beer, but would react to it very quickly. As time went by, the affects intensified and he was told by his doctor that it could actually kill him. His father and older brother had the same problem, and I believe that it did shorten their lives.
Early on, it seemed that he would just get kind of silly, but as time passed, he sometimes became aggressive and delusional. It was a very sad thing to see, because he was a very decent person.

My wife enjoys a glass of wine for dinner sometimes. But, she is alcohol intolerant. It is very defined, as her face and neck get fire engine red with drinking only 1 glass.
Not only wine. She can drink one beer in the summertime to cool off and she gets the same rash, or sometimes just red splotches. It usually takes 2-4 hours to clear up.

my boss is alcohol intolerant
if she has one glass of beer, spirit etc she starts throwing up and getting all the symptoms you'd normally associate with someone who'd drunk about 10 pints.
Wish i was the same lol

I am allergic to Alcohol. What usually happen is I will feel itchy starting at my feet then if I keep consuming alcohol (no choice during some social and business occasions) my hands, arms will feel itchy as well and then spread to my body.

some of the previous answers were rather dramatic or uncommon. one of the most common symptoms is flushing (ie the face or even the entire body gets red) after a small amount of alcohol. this is often seen in people who lack alcohol dehydrogenase, commonly in asians.
and it certainly does alter moods, making some more aggressive. i get super mellow. ever heard of beer goggles?

My dad almost died after drinking alcohol for the first time. He went into a coma for three days. When he woke up, he was surrounded by loved ones, who were already in mourning for his passing. Even his brother who hated his guts came to pay his last respect. He never drank again after that.

Pepcid AC is for heartburn. Not allergies. Go see an allergist and get tested for food allergies. Until then, stay away from alcohol.

We are all intolerant to alcohol, that is why we get drunk, alcohol is a mild poison, and does change mood and immature people can get aggressive, it gives them false bravado.
