I have a 1 year old and a 2 month old. I am 20 years old and I want to pursue joining the Air Force. I was going to join after I graduated high school, but I ended up getting pregnant with my daughter. My fiance said that if I do decide to go that he will take care of the kids. Can I still enlist even though I have 2 kids?

You can join. Don't listen to those who say that you need to give up rights to your children and such. That's a bunch of idiots who are answering this to scare you.

I will tell you that once you do get in it's going to be hard on your to be away for that amount of time, but it prepares you in case you do have to be away from them again. I'm not saying it's easy, but it makes you feel a little better in knowing that they will be taken care of.

I wish you luck in enlisting as there are so many advantages to being in the military. I was in for 8 yrs and due to some circumstances I decided to get out to take care of my son while my husband stayed in. I love the military and I'm hoping that I can come back in another 2-3 yrs.

Yes because my brother in-law did though it was hard on him because he also has two kids. Just be sure you keep in touch with your Fiance and your kids.

Oh and a word of advice coming from a wife who's husband use to be in the Air Force once you get your assignments to your first base after tech school try to see if you can get base housing because that might make it easy for the both of you because you'll have less bills just to let you know ahead of time because you never know how long the waiting list is and it all depends on the base you go to.Oh and before I do forget while your still and airmen go to this store that's just for airman as much as you can because you never know what you can find there and it's all free. Though you can only get so much a day.

Good Luck I'm sure you'll do good because you sound like a strong person.

Why ask the people here serve your country ask the air force the British had some wild women who tested aircrafts after they where built .A women makes a great soldier and worker in the airforce But the air must have total security as there are people everywhere that want the technology .In my case a japanese women took photos of me while she was standing in front of cafe in queensland as the owner accused me of not paying and using the toilet.Total loyalty in airforce when you join as a team relies on each other.

Yes you may, but you will have to get married first. With the exception of the Army National Guard, single parents are not allowed to enlist in the military, period. In the "old days," some recruits would try to get around this restriction by giving up legal custody of their child(ren) until after basic training and job school, but the military has wised up to this practice.

Yes, but you're going to be putting a strain on your family. Make sure you're fully prepared to accommodate that challenge. The Air Force provides some assistance to families, but it won't be everything you need. And if you get pregnant while on duty, you're going to have a lot of problems. Good luck and thanks for serving!

yes you can. No you don't have to be married, but if you do get married you will get paid more, and since you have kids you will get paid more than a single person with no kids. Good luck try to pick a job that hopefully dosen't involve going over seas for your kids sake!

Yes, but you probably have to get married first. I know that single mothers can be in, but I don't know if single mothers can ship to basic. Mainly because of the childcare issues.

If you can pass the other requirements and prove that he can adequately keep the kids while you would be away then absolutely.
