The only way the looks relate to the social skills is if the person (male or female) is very conscious of their projection to others.
Maybe they win at the social butterfly game, but know this: Your perfect partner must open up and be able to share themselves, warts and all. The "pretty boys" and "perfect girls" may not be able to admit faults or accept yours.
Be very aware that wolves hide in sheep's clothing when it comes to love. Find a person who is attractive to you, honest, and makes you want to be with them without reservation.

Beautiful girls and handsome guys do attract wolf whistles but I don't see why they would attract more dates and be considered as successful. Look at the world, ugly people make headlines and are billionaires. What is more important is the characters and not looks. What good are looks when an illness can bring on the opposite.

I do because beautiful girls are much more appealing to look at and so can gain a lot more attention then some ugly replusive girl who makes you uneasy talking to

Yea, because nature programmed humans (and animals) to believe that good looks are a measure of health and good genes, so the better he/she looks, the more suitable he/she is for having offsprings with. It's a law, embedded in our genetic code.
