I checked with chkdsk command and there are apparently no bad sectors on the disk.

Co? I look for your last questions. BRB.
Hmmm? You did a full install and everything went well?
Remove the side cover (I assume this a desktop). Boot the computer and see if the fan on the processor work. If, you not sure of this, see if ALL fans run. The fan processor about top of board under the power supply.
My next question; Have you added any new Hardware, especially Graphics Card?
