i need to build muscle but i am not certain if i can do this by simply doing push ups and sits ups or squats.
I have been doing at least 500situps or 300pushups and200squats daily but i don't know if this will build muscle.

Do i need dumbells or machines to build muscle?

If you do not have access to free weights and machines, then you will not build as much muscle . You will develop your upper body somewhat by the push-ups and the legs with squats, but as your body gets used to this regime, the results will seem less evident. By using the free weights and machines, you can vary the amount of weight used and utilize more body parts plus have more variety of exercises to develop all your muscles . You must also add cardio to burn fat as well.. and eat a balanced diet low in sat fat with smart carbs and high in protein.
