I used to have the same problem and I overcame my fear of public speaking by taking a speech course in college believe it or not it really worked, we had to stand in front of the class and do at least 4 presentations that semester. It was a very valuable lesson I carry with me to this day, by the way, I came out of that class with an A. I would also like to recommend a great book for overcoming most any kind of fear. It's called "Feel the Fear but do it anyway, by Susan Jeffers, very powerful lessons on how to overcome simple daily idiosyncrasies. Good Luck.

Did you quit the first time you fell off your bike? The second? Of course not. Why? Because you WANTED TO LEARN HOW! Practice at anything makes it better. Some may take a week. Some a month. One thing for sure: the more you know, the more you have to talk about. Fill yourself with knowledge. Especially with what interests you. Current events, music, gadgetry, nature,etc.
When getting to know someone, learn how to ask them about themselves. Show an interest. Peo. love to talk about themselves and their interests. Compliments go along way-but MUST ALWAYS be sincere. Nothing more slimy than a phoney comment.

Im also like that.
You cant get rid of it, but you can maybe put something small in your hand that no one can see and play with it while you talk. this helps to take your mind of the situation a bit.

the same thing happen to me. this wierd felling iget through is by having more friends. if we have more friends we cannot feel afraid to talk in front of everyone because we just talk to our friends.

MEDITATE on something good. LIKE 4 instance what helps me is people are just like me. THEY get scared too. AND they are human just like me. THEy get scared just like me.
