What is the significance of these denominations, when God or Jesus never labled himself as a christian. In fact Jesus himself preached against man's doctrines. Why do christians follow these doctrines made by man instead of God's doctrine. Also why is there such hatred among christians, that they seem to hate any who believe differently than they do. And what of being of equal yoke that Jesus spoke of. I was hammered by christians when I decided to marry a pagan about being of equal yoke. Then if this is true Baptists should only marry Baptists, Catholics should only marry catholics, and so forth, for they are not of equal yoke for they believe different things.

equally yoked specifically is directed at Israel, to protect the line of believers until Christ.

If I were baptist, I would marry a Baptist, same with catholic, etc. It just makes sense to have your basic life understanding be the same as your spouse's. many people do follow this.

because scripture was writted in hebrew (old test) and Greek (new test), it has been translated into many languages. most translations fit a particular denominations' paradigm.

The Catholic Church became as much a political body as a spiritual one over the centuries. The Protestant movement created an uproar in the Catholic Church because they, at first, thought it would remove it's money base and political clout. The Protestants wanted to follow a spiritual leadership which focused more on God than politics. In time the Catholic church became less political and more spiritual and learned to accept the Protestants.
Later some Protestant groups decided that there were things missing in the established denominations so they established their own. Each focused on some point they felt was significant. The basic tenets of Christianity are the same in all.

To say they all hate each other is wrong. There is no hatred between the denominations. They simply go about their observances differently. Yes, there are people in each group that are very protective of their denomination and will say harsh things about others, but that is not the majority or the norm. In most communities you'll find the pastors meet monthly and discuss the needs of the community without attacking each other.

Jesus never labled Himself a Christian because Christian means "follower of Christ". He wasn't His own follower.

There was a time when there was one church in a town and everyone met there once a week and then met in homes throughout the week etc. Then in the early part of the 20th century the illuminists began to collect christians in groups and separate them from one another, in the ecumenical movement. The different groups were given names such as baptist etc to separate them from pentacostals and the other you could say un-natural spiritual groups. This was done because the elite powerful knew that the christian moral backing of the general population would stand in the way of their plan to unite the world under Lucifer. There's a whole lot more to the story but that's the general reason behind the denominations.

The name above the door is a pretty good indication of the teaching, worship and fellowship you will receive within those doors. People have different understandings of Christ and Scripture and the "label" is to help you sort out those that are closest to your own understanding and beliefs. One thing all true Christian Churches have in common is Jesus, salvation by the blood and the Word of God. Style of worship, degree of fellowship and depth of teaching varies from Church to Church but the central message of salvation by the blood of Jesus and the Bible as the Word of God is the same. Being unequally yoked means hooking up with someone (especially a life partner) that is not on the same spiritual path as you are. If your partner does not know Jesus as their personal savior and you do - then you are definitely unequally yoked (one is in darkness and one is in light - one lives and one is dead in sin).

The reason there are so denominations is because humans are not perfect. We tend to disagree on things. Unequally yoked means Christians should ideally marry other Christians, you said yourself Jesus was not concerned with denominations. I also reject your statement that as a whole the denotations hate each other.

It is not so much as a need to label ourselves as to answer a question as fully as possible.

If someone asked me what I believed about God I could truthfully say that I was:
+ A Theist
+ A Monotheist
+ A worshiper of the God of Abraham
+ A worshiper of the God of Moses
+ A worshiper of the God of Israel
+ A Christian
+ A Trinitarian
+ A Catholic

Telling someone that I am a Catholic says all of the above and more.

With love in Christ.

i think that God could be nondenominational. God is the final being who created the heavens and earth, the father of Jesus who replaced into Baptist. i think that God could be nondenominational. Jesus replaced right into a instructor and prophet born in Bethlehem and lively in Nazareth; his existence and sermons type the inspiration for Christianity (circa 4 BC - advert 29) "Christianity is The collective physique of Christians with the aid of the international and history discovered predominantly in Europe and the Americas and Australia". "For one thousand years the Roman Catholic Church replaced into the critical church of Christendom". Out of Christendom different church homes divided and branched out as a results of variations in ideals and how the observe of God could study. it is how and why their are such countless categories of religions immediately and new ones stoning up continuously.
