I have been browsing them too and yes the vast majority of them are full of awful looking people. I feel so bad for saying that but it's true.
But, have a look at Sarah Beaney's dating website its called something like my single mate and that has some very good looking people on it. But you have to pay to get chatting with these people.

There a nice ones on dating sites. Just remember with dating sites registering and joining are usually free. Its when you contact the member that you have to pay.
So there will be people who will just register but have no plan on meeting someone there so their profile are either bad or not properly maintained.
There are those who are open and serious to meeting people. They will have a fair to nice profile. Some even good.
Ofcourse you gotta watch out for con artist, predators, players have terrific profiles. Also there was once a case of lawsuit by a member to a dating site. According to the member some of the profiles are fake. The ones that are terrific or too good to be true. To keep the member from coming back, attempting to contact.
Just be careful and use your sense if the profile ur looking at a real or worth the time to contact. Happy date hunting

Dating sites are filled with the people who can't find anyone in the real world. The sort of people who can't even score in dimly lit bars. What did you expect, erudite discussions about philosophy?

LMAO! I've never heard of that one.The ones I've heard the most about are EHarmony.com and Matchmaker.com.altho I've never been to any of them.Good luck with your search.
