Sleep deprevation is when you want to sleep but you are not allowed to.

no i would not tell you to use drugs in the first place, they are bad for you, ok! I do not understand why you want to see what insomnia feels like , cause i think some time in your life you will find that out any way, cause you will get it for a while. Actually staying awake for 24 hours staight, is not really going to give you a really good insomnia feeling. Most people stay awake longer then that, you can try to think of all the things you are worried about or drink coffee, but i really think you should just go to bed, and one day insomnia will come to you.

What i used to do as a teen to make myself stay up was this:
Sublingual B-total energy supplement. Do not take more than one dose, the vitamin B can cause blood to rush into your capillaries making you skin feel like it is on fire(I made that mistake once, it is VERY painful)
Energy drinks: Monster, Rockstar, Amp.
Coffee, espresso, whatever has a lot of caffeine.
Distract yourself until daylight, usually once the sun comes up you can last til the sun goes down again.
Sleep deprivation is harmful to your health, and you should not do it often(if ever). Insomnia is a serious disorder that people like me have. When you cannot control it, you will do ANYTHING to sleep regularly. Try not to get in the habit of it :)

Drink coffee, tea. Play exciting games on the pc. Use aromatherapy such as green tea or orange.
If you have time, sleep one hour later each night. Your biological clock will be adjusted to sleep in the day in one week time. Then you will know the misery of insomnia : unable to sleep at night while there is nothing to do and sleepy in the day.

Insomnia is only called that when you have a prob getting to sleep ding dong!
What your are wanting to do is "sleep deprevation"

keep yourself busy and occupied - eventually you should not sit or lay down , cuz you will probably be 'out'
you wont' get to experience insomnia though - sorry to disappoint you........................

it's miserable. if you have to TRY to stay AWAKE though, you're not really going to know what it feels like. insomniacs would actually like to go to sleep and they TRY to go to sleep but can't. but you could always drink lots of soda and eat lots of sugary stuff. don't sit still for too long.
