My gran has none, except on her eyes and head. Even when she was a teen, she was hairless. I know this because she told me and when she had to have an operation, and needed to be shaved, and the nurse couldn't see any. I looked closely at her arms. No hair.

Certainly; however, it is a rare phenomenon. A more common disease is called alopecia areata where people lose hair.

Since your grandmother has no body hair, it's obviously possible. I would imagine body hair is like any other attribute - there will be some people who don't have it, and others who do. As to why - presumably it's a genetic matter, and a recessive one at that, since most people DO have at least some body hair.

yes it is called alopecia. charlie villanueva of the nba's Milwaukee bucks has this condition. he verified this
