I know it will still be Chevy ,Ford,Dodge, and Toyota, but they are getting rid of the traditional stock car for cars that look like they were in the movie The Fast and the Furious. Let those fools who like small cars and bigass wings have their own league.! Next thing you know they will race a Honda Civic! GOD HELP NASCAR!!!!!

The cars of the 70's might of had wings, but they were still big stockcars. COT will be much smaller than one of those cars! Just like I said small wing cars need to have their own show and not get involved in what once was the best sport around.

Just so Clevis knows, the Ford Taurus hasn't raced in 2 years. If he's gonna comment, he needs to watch the damn race more often.

NASCAR has hired too many marketers. I guess the suits think that because a lot of people buy cars that look like those crappy cars that NASCAR should maybe race them too. If it keeps going like this, NASCAR will be doomed in a few years. NASCAR needs to get rid of the guys at the top and hire people who actually know about racing and what people want to see. I hope it doesn't come to NASCAR racing the COT. If that happens, I think there will be a lot less fans.

I will be honest that I was not very happy to see Toyota join Nascar. I think that it is all going to hurt the other car teams. Especially Dodge who is still struggling with the new nose. But then I think that Chevy is still strong, but I worry about them too with the new engine changes and the new molds of the Impala SS. But they are kind of the same shape of the Monte Carlo SS. I think that Nascar should have gave the teams at least a year to get comfortable with the COT and make sure that the drivers are okay with how the car handles. I hope and pray that they do not allow any other car companies into Nascar... It will only make things worse for the others.

I didn't understand it either. But I don't think the big wigs want to hear from us, the lowly fan. They think that we are going to hang around no matter what. Which is kind of true. And I hate to say this, but with all the safety devices and them redoing the car, there is not much compation left. I LOVE racing, and I will watch it, there are some tracks that I might not watch the whole race, just the first half, then the last half. But it has kind of gotten boring at certain tracks because of all the changes that they made. I will save my opinion of the COT till we actually see it in a race. But I fear that it will only make the races that are left, that are exciting, boring.

You would have thought that NASCAR learned from the Plymouth Superbird/Dodge Daytonas Back in the 70's about the wings.
I understand why they are using this style wing for the spoiler but it takes away from the looks of a stock car.Yes the comparison to the "fast and furious" is understandable but hope fully some of the other changes will make for some better racing and safer racing.
that's all I have to say about that.

i think of the automobile is so plenty extra effectual protection smart, yet leaves plenty to be needed in terms of leaving room for ingenuity, the way those automobiles are layed out if a team is fortunate adequate to hit a setup off the trailer they might very virtually tack weld it in place and it will paintings. The France kinfolk might desire to backtrack the spec racer plan somewhat and permit some regulate-skill back into the automobiles, except they prefer to return to the '70's whilst a Pearson or a Petty or a Baker might positioned a lap on the sphere with regularity. perhaps a pair of those does not harm, yet for a flat tire final Saturday replaced into surely between the main uninteresting races of modern reminiscence.

they added a bunch of features. It allows adjustability so one car can be set up to run multiple styles of tracks. It also allows a smoother flow of air off the back of the car which in turn will create "cleaner air" and will allow easier passing. The cars will look more like the actual production car than the ones they have now. I am kinda leary on it, but I guess its cool that they come out with the complete car instead of picking up one new feature every year.

Big picture of things NASCAR is trying to keep the competition one of driver talent, and not one of who manufacture the most aerodynamic car for track conditions. By going to the wings, you eliminate the factor of a "Chevy" being faster than the "Ford" or the Dodges having beter cornering than ecery one else. it make the cars more "common" and allows the team to adjust the car to drivers preference.

The whole car of tomorrow concept was designed with safety, cost effectiveness, as well as close competition in mind.... will it work, who even knows.. but we will see at Bristol and Daledega this year (both ends of the spectrum). I know that the drivers and many of the teams are not thrilled at all with it.
rubbin is racin!

What the hell is 'stock' about NASCAR?? I know we can't buy a rear drive Monte Carlo or Taurus at any dealer anywhere. NASCAR hasn't been worth a s*it since the seventies...

Ummm... are you guys under the impression that its just for looks? Wings, just like all bodywork, are used to generate downforce to help with traction.
Only in NASCAR would people freak out about a technology advance.
