Zorba, an Old English mastiff, holds the world record of the world's largest dog. Most Mastiff males weigh in around 160-230 pounds and females weigh in around 120-190 pounds. The height of a mastiff normally ranges from 26 inches to 36 inches at the shoulder. Although the Irish Wolf Hound and Great Dane can be taller then the mastiff, they do not match the mastiff for weight and over all size. The largest breed of dog is the irish Wolfhound. It's really the tallest breed of dog. People say (when largest dog breed question is asked) "do you mean height or weight?".
It has to be height and height only because you could just overfeed your dog for it to be the heaviest.
