Your hotel is quite close to Termini station. The best thing to do is take the shuttle bus from the airport to Termini. Once you have collected your luggage and come through customs there is a ticket booth where you can get tickets. The bus runs until 11pm so don't worry about getting stranded. Ciampino airport was completely redone a few years ago and is now very much a well connected modern airport. Avoid catching taxis in Rome as the drivers are unscrupulous and will probably rip you off!

We booked a budget flight to ciampino airport and ended up not going. My friend who travels to Rome monthly told me that it is a freight airport mainly and doesnt have regular taxis or buses; especially in the evening. It has been on TV about these airlines using ports that leave you stranded. Be careful and try to sort transport out before you tavel.
