Yes it's true but it depends on how much your parents own. This is called Education Maintenance Allowance (i.e. EMA)

Apparently if you are entitled to EMA, how much you get a week depends on your parent's income & if you attend classes, etc, you get extra cash. My brother is currently claiming EMA & got some extra cash just for attending college and having a good attendance record.

It is true its called the EMA Educational Maintenance Allowance And it ranges from 10 pounds to 30 depending on your parents income.

Yes you get EMA, I think that your parents combined income has to be below #30k. It goes on your attendance per week and I think that you also get a quarterly bonus if you have 100% attendence. You get your forms from your local education authority. Hope this helps

It is £30.00 per week but it can be reduced if you do not attend lessons, also that is based on how much income comes into the family.
