i mean do i need a new amp

You don't give enough info to answer this properly, you can hook the speaker any way you want just be sure that if you hook speakers in parallel you don't get the impedance lower than the amp allows, two 8 ohm speakers in parallel gives a total of 4 ohms, two in series 16 ohms.

again not enough info,but some 4 ch amps can be bridged so a long as the ohms on the amp and sub match and the power rating in rms match it would work.if you need a new amp go to onlinecarstero.com

It's not the most effective use of the amplifier, but it won't hurt anything as long as you match up the power and impedance ratings correctly. In other words, you can get by on this until you're ready to upgrade. Usually you can only use two of the four channels to power a sub.

In addition to what KaeZoo says, the amp may also burn up the two unused channels as some amps won't tolerate not having a load.
