Sorry, but that story isn't in the Bible. It's probably in a novel you read.

Close to this is the story of Elisha and the bands of the King of Syria in II Kings. Verse 17 finds the servants eyes open to see horses and chariots of fire on the mountain.
No angels or swords are mentioned, but one assumes that the chariots are occupied. Artists doing story illustrations probably account for part of your recall.

15 When the servant of the man of God got up and went out early the next morning, an army with horses and chariots had surrounded the city. "Oh, my lord, what shall we do?" the servant asked. 16 "Don't be afraid," the prophet answered. "Those who are with us are more than those who are with them." 17 And Elisha prayed, "O LORD, open his eyes so he may see." Then the LORD opened the servant's eyes, and he looked and saw the hills full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha. (2 Kings 6)
I think the person above me meant to say 2 Kings instead of Ezekiel....

I don't have my Bible handy right now but I know exactly what you are talking about. You are talking about Elijah and Elisha. Elisha was afraid when he saw the large host of the enemy, however, Elijah was not. And the rest happened just the way you said it did. God did allow Elisha's eyes to be opened spiritually so that he would be able to see the large army that he was not literally able to see. May God Bless U.

2 Kings 6:15-17 says, "Â When the minister of the man of the [true] God rose early to get up, and went out, why, there a military force was surrounding the city with horses and war chariots. At once his attendant said to him: “Alas, my master! What shall we do?” Â But he said: “Do not be afraid, for there are more who are with us than those who are with them.” Â And Elisha began to pray and say: “O Jehovah, open his eyes, please, that he may see.” Immediately Jehovah opened the attendant’s eyes, so that he saw; and, look! the mountainous region was full of horses and war chariots of fire all around Elisha."
Hope that's what you were looking for!
