Very simple, the War is a political and economic act, The war is not only soldiers shoting and bombs being dropped. If the political and economic work is bad (even if your army is the best and your soldiers work hard) you will lose the war. The problem in afgahnistan is that the admistration forget the war there. All the money and resources that should have used to the reconstruction of Afghanistan where wasted in iraq. So if US won the war there now they are losing the peace. The taliban is returns because the economic situation of Afghanistan is not improving as was waited. so many tribes havent seen the advantages of be allies of the US and now are protecting Al qaida. Sorry for the marine surely he is doing his job but Bush isnt doing his own job. So his live is being wasted. Remember a soldier is an instrument of the state, is one way to made a policy (remember they are G.I.s goverment issue, just a piece of equipment). If the political and economic strategy is wrong a worth piece of equipment (the marine) is being risked and wrongly used. The soldiers cant be blamed for the strategy or for the wrong of the war, they recive orders. You have to blame the politicians and the high command

Dr, we HAVE captured and detained much of the leadership of Al-Qaida. The top two of Al-Qaida and the number one in the Taliban are still out there, somewhere.
We're doing fine and the US with much support from NATO is going after Taliban and AQ targets.
I do like what Rifat said. In order for us to be MORE successful in finding targets, we need to be more "in the communities. I think that goes along way. We're doing it in Iraq and it's working.

First they need to become honest than try to catch them. They never can success without local people help. They are foreigner and cant search the whole area because its very much narrow. So first need to become faithfull to the local community and then with their help then can find the al-qaida leader. They search for terorist but what image of us in the world?

they have failed to catch al qaida in afghanistan because al qaidi is actually hiding in pakistan. and no they dont need more "ammunition". dont think because we havent killed them yet that we dont know where they are and what their doing.

Destroy the poppy(Heroin) fields and people will lose power in the sense of strength .Provide them with contracts to make plates and earth ware for America, Australia and England why does it all have to be made in china .Share the contracts and everyone will prosper and the threat of terror will die.
