Sorry, I didn't really feel like reading the article. But most people can readily accept that religious organizations and specific churches do affect governmental/political arenas. Either way, in my opinion, they should be taxed. As much money as some rake in, why is it that it's not given back to the "tax pool" to help with things like welfare, public service, etc. I mean, that's the Christian thing to do, right? (Although it's not just Christian churches)

They should be taxed, but in a non-discriminatory manner. That is, all should be taxed at the same rate, so as not to favor one over another ( with perhaps an exception for poor churches so as not to keep them from opperating.) However once they enter bussiness or politics they should fair just like everyone else.

church homes that don't strengthen politics could could pay taxes. it extremely is one way that the church has quite been enabled to creep into politics. yet, Lyndon Baines Johnson brainstormed and got here up with the thank you to purchase them outright. supply them tax-exemptions exterior of those that they already qualify for below the 1st modification. those church homes will in no way utter a peep against the government because of the fact of all the money they make having offered out.

Yes, Most definately. But I have not been to a church yet to have talked about politics/business. But if they ever do, You better believe I will push them to pay taxes. And yes I do believe that they SHOULD do so and be taxes.

Yes. I read that artical some time ago, but I remember hearing about the idea of removing the tax exemption in the mid-70's. It is a good idea.

Isn't it interesting that the same people who yell "tax the Church, Tax the Church" are the same people who say "Church don't get involved - separation of Church and State you know!" ---- you can't have your cake and eat it too. No Churches should not be taxed period.
