I know the idea behind seperation of church and state. Pariochal schools are not bound by that as they are church-run, not financed by tax dollars, so they would make a better option for parents wanting their kids to have a religious education instead of providing one themselves at home or violating the Constitutional rights of others.

Becuase they would need a way to force your kids to go to them. They can teach the religious subject to their own kids at home. The school debate is to force the stuff on your kids.

If you are referring to public education then it is simply separation of church and state.

Because parents who want religion to be taught in schools, want those that are not exposed to Christ to be expose to his teachings.
