You don't have to get rid of your cat - just go to your vet or petshop and get a spray for it, spray it and those with allergies will have loads of relief.

You may have allergies to cats. Most people allergic to cats are actually allergic to the chemistry in the dried saliva after they groom, and not to the hair. You may need to start taking claritin for the allergies.

a last resort thing you can try for the allergies is a medication you can get from your vet called acepromazine. A very tiny little amount in the food every day changes the chemistry in the saliva and it relieves many people's allergies... in larger doses is used as a sedative, but a drop or two in his food will not sedate him.... even larger doses wears off very soon..... this may help you keep kitty and poor cat not lose his home.

Go to a groomer and get a cat dander shampoo, if that doesn't work, you may have to get rid of cat since you have allergies.
