I think my home telephone wiring is star connection. After opening the jack from 1 room I found blue and white colour wire loop is hooked on to the jack and black & yellow wire is left free. Now from here I have to extend it to another room internally. What wire and what all things I should use & how can I extend it to another room.

You only need to splice it. It may be better to have a series connection but it matters very little.

If you have one phone line only the middle pair matter. This pair is suppose to be white with green stripe and green. It is always the middle pair on the connector no matter what color.

Splice the new wires and connect in the same position on the other connector. By the way, the ring voltage is over 100V so don't put them in your mouth.

even if that's in undemanding words the wiring to the phone, they make those little clip issues which have a jack on each end. You connect 2 telephone wires with them. i imagine they're called couplers.
