If you study the world's geological history you will realize that the earth's temperature goes through gradual warming and cooling phases. Carbon Footprints, Carbon Emissions, etc. have no effect on the earth's temperature. To say otherwise is to speak ignorantly and purport a former bitter vice president's convenient lie.

Not only is what you said sooooo true, but the real scientists, the ones who don't fudge charts because they were paid to, say that the real reason is due to solar radiation. It makes so much sense that the sun is what causes the the earth to get warmer.

Also, human emmissions of co2 hardly contribute to the earths overall emissions.

It is always a good idea to do what we can not to waste recources, and to find alternatives to oil in general. This will be cleaner for our planet, less oil spills etc, but global warming is just not caused by humans. This is the biggest political scandal from the far left trying to win elections.

Surely the Government wouldn't lie to the people! Can you imagine what would happen if they did? It would be like they were dishonest!

Now that that's out of the way, yes the more informed (scientifically) know that this is nothing more than a fad. Twenty years ago everyone was yelling about "Global Cooling". Oh and remember that big to-do about a scary weather pattern called "El Nino"? it's just the latest thing, so the masses are jumping on the bandwagon.

it is not basically the climate. The northpole: is melting extra effective than ever in the previous and there is way less ice than ever in the previous. Ocean: The Temperature is increasing, the water gets warmer.... wherefore particular tropical fish is arising to the north. Which by no ability happened in the previous. bugs: Many tropical insect are moving and are settling extra up north. Hurricanes: they're getting extra sever, this has to do with the bigger temperature modifications in air and ocean. And international warming generates for particular components interior the commencing up a harder iciness. the subject is that the character does no longer get adequate time to get well anymore.

look, its not ALL these scientists... most scientists wont have any part in it... the ones who do are trying to get grant money. its the way the science field works. scientists will back something up they have doubt in if they think it might get them some work. there isnt a whole lot of money to be had out there for scientists beleive it or not.... al gore is an air bag, why is he claiming all this but flys around in his own jet wich burns TONS of fuel and puts it way up high in the sky where its worst to be for his theory. its so obvious, its not true if you study the FACTS. he plays on peoples fears, and the fact is that we need to change our lives for the enviornment, but not for global warming. think about this... if ONE volcano erupts... that like does a zillion more times dammage than humans have done in a long time. that is the earth itself! also to me it makes no sense that the earth would heat up from carbon emmisions.. it makes more sense for it to COOL. also they say that ice is melting up north? well its GROWING down south! they dont tell you that! its a bunch of junk, politicized junk. the man needs to make a buck, and he's made tons of money on it already...... whats up with that? meanwhile he pollutes way more than you or i do. he probably has polluted the earth more than i ever will in my whole life. the guy drives a JET....... get a clue!

Is Al Gore coniving to distract the public so that we don't notice all of the scandals and screw ups in the white house? Is he covering for Cheney and Scooter? Or perhaps the Gonzales firings? How about the mismanagement of the Iraq war? I'm not saying that the Dems haven't had their scandals too - but I didn't project sinister motives on Republicans who were lobbying their causes during those periods.

Come on. I never respond to things like this but your question is kind of smug and just doesn't really rise above the ignorance you claim others possess.

Not as many as you think!
Al Gore has been concerned about CO2 buildup long before he was running for office. CO2 levels have never been this high before. It traps heat. What is so freakin wrong with erring on the side of caution and hearing what the scientists are telling you. There are many many examples of the environment going hey wire as we speak. Political bs can't change what is going on. Permafrost melting, extinctions, glacier retreat, ecosystem-migration running at an accelerated pace, etc etc. Everybody should be worried for their children's future if we don't switch off of the gas and diesel engines and soon.

There are exactly 143,567,899 of us that are aware that global warming is a farce....

And we are all dumb hicks that think everything Rush Libaugh says must be true.

[Edit: On a serious note... When you have scientists from the current U.S. administration saying that they have been told by their politician superiors to not report the facts about global warming, is the the far left that is making stuff up, or the far right that is trying to cover it up?]

this "lie" has been told between the scientific community about 10-15 years before Algor even lost the election so it is a very real problem. and global warming IS caused by pollution and the greenhouse effect that has proven that the world IS heating up by a thickening atmosphere that is causing the world to trap in the suns heat waves. there normally arent trees growing in antarctita and the first ones to sprout happened a few years ago. global warming is real.

Yes, so much so that even the Pentagon has stated that global warming is the biggest threat the world will face - even bigger than terrorism. There must be really stupid people at the Pentagon then.

I don knw whether global warming is a farce or not, however, I know tht it shud b stopped or atleast reduced.

We should certainly do all we can to reduce carbon emissions, because it makes no sense to enlarge our "carbon footprint" without good reason. On that note, I often wonder how many of these global warming doomsayers actually turn off their computers after looking up the latest computer climate models?

A surprising number of people leave their computers on permanent standby. That gives off carbon. A lot of it—"hundreds of thousands of tonnes of [it]," according to U.K. Environment Minister Elliot Morley, who has supported a European Union law to force manufacturers to make more energy-efficient electrical appliances. A large "carbon footprint" isn't even good for business, as it isn't cost-effective either.

However, carbon emissions produced by mankind are only part of the problem, not the entirety of it. Yet the crowd demanding action on climate change act as though it is mankind's sole doing, setting up false premises which can only mean the "global warming" scare, as they present it, is a farce. It's also a ploy that Al Gore and other politicians can use to hook gullible people into voting for them and supporting their agendas.

In Leif Erikson's day, the world climate was several degrees warmer than today — even higher than current worst-case global warming scenarios — and this warm spell lasted several centuries. (You can read about a Harvard study here.) Greenland was actually green in some regions. Yet, human civilization thrived.

This is not to say that Greenland didn't get cold or that it didn't have an ice cap 1,000 years ago. But it was a considerably milder place. Even during the 1100s, the weather was considerably balmier in Europe than it is today. Wine grapes are being successfully grown in southwest England, but Dorset certainly isn't tropical and it barely even qualifies as subtropical. It has simply, over time, gotten that little bit warmer to allow grapes to grow. Just as they did in the 12th century.

We don't even fully understand our own oceans; we discover something new about them every day, or so it seems. And yet, we think we can accurately predict apocalyptic climate-change scenarios? We can state with authority that places like Morocco, Bombay and Hong Kong will be inhospitable by the end of this century? Please. Take a reality pill, everyone, and just calm down. (If anything, Bombay will become inhospitable from overpopulation.)

The climate started getting slowly warmer around 1900, scientists say. That was long before we had George W. Bush in the White House to blame for all our problems.

It does seem amazing that London had its warmest year on record. But "on record" is the salient point. We have only been keeping records since the 1600s, while the Earth was still recovering from a cold spell — the result of the Little Ice Age. If British weather records stretched back much further, we'd likely find a year that was much balmier. Several years. Actually, if climate change means that British summers will be hotter and last longer, you won't find me complaining. I couldn't be happier about it.

I work in an office with a water cooler with a side tube for plastic cups. I can't tell you how many times a night I hear those plastic cups being yanked from their side holder. When you consider that there are re-usable mugs in the kitchen area to drink water from, there is no excuse for using these plastic cups that won't be recycled. But people don't think about that. They're too busy wondering why America won't endorse the Kyoto Treaty as they toss their seventeenth plastic cup of the night into their wastebasket.

I continue to be amazed not just by how much people throw out, but how little they care about it. Personally, I recycle nearly everything. Cardboard, paper, junk mail, glass, aluminum and tin cans and plastic milk bottles. We do have a recycling service in our area, but it handles only paper and glass. So, twice a week, I take two sacks full of trash half-a-mile up the hill to be placed in bins where I can recycle everything I collected.

When we're losing land to landfills or to build incinerators, don't expect me to fret about a little climate change. That makes as much sense as watching a jihadist blow up a building and then saying, "Yeah, but what about those fundie Christians? They're the real problem!"

We all love looking at pretty Christmas lights in town centers? But does anyone ever stop to think about how much power they use up? It's downright frivolous. No one needs pretty lights to have a merry Christmas, so why, when we're supposed to be so concerned about saving energy, do we still allow this?

This is why I just can't help but think that "global warming" is all smoke and mirrors. It was a great opportunity for Al Gore to tax us into oblivion if he got elected. Think about it: how many plane trips and limousine rides has this so-called environmental crusader taken to preach to the world about global warming? Hello, I think the lights are on but nobody's home. And that's not very environmentally responsible.

When it comes to the environment, just use common sense: Recycle. Ride a bike. Take public transportation. Shun consumerism and make do with what you've already got. Shut all lights and appliances off when you're not using them. Tell all your friends to please do likewise. And if you still feel nervous over global warming, then ask God to turn the sun down a bit. Then you've done all you can reasonably do.
