I fell and scraped up my knee today, and i think a scab is forming. but i just looked down at my knee right now and there's like this sticky pus coming out of it - it looks like maple syrup. sorry this is kind of gross, but i'm curious - what is it made of?

Thats your scab. lol. What it does is forms a liquid (jelly type thickness) over the wound and in time it will dry. Leaving a hard and crusty "lid".

infection clean well with warm soap and water, if you have a medicine syringe use that to flush it then pat dry and put something like neosporin on it with a band aid for a couple of days changing 3 times a day then take that off and let the air get it at it to dry and scab. good luck

It is puss. You did not clean and disinfect the wound properly. Wash it now with soap and pat dry. Use some peroxide (preferable) or alcohol (stings and a little harsh, but better than nothing). Protect with a band-aid. Buy some triple anti- biotic for extra measure.

pus is made of dead bacteria and dead cells from the wound. the presence of pus indicates that the wound is infected.

some leaking is normal because of the anti-bodies, but you should clean it with peroxide

That stuff are dead white cells that have helped clean your wound. It's just dead white cells/cells/and some red blood cells.

it's puss, basically your wound is infected and it is the body's way of cleaning the wound out. you should clean it with peroxide and then apply some neosporin. keep it clean and dry.
