Pomeranian is the best you can get, I have never had one that doesn't fit your description perfectly.

Mini Schnauzers are so great. They should be good if they are raised with children. What do you mean...grooming 500 or below? Do you mean per year? My Schnauzer gets groomed about every 3 months at $43 per time here in Calif. This breed is very intelligent, easy to train and they like to please their owners. They have lots of energy....not extreme enough to drive you crazy though.

A beagle would be the most child friendly, most toy breeds DO NOT like children. so my advice would be to go for a smaller dog thats not really a "toy" dog like the beagle, a shetland sheepdog, or a whippet

I'm more of a dachshund kind of girl. They are very smart and loyal and if raised with children, very good with kids. The only grooming they need is a bath and the occasional nail trim.

get you a regular dog and train him to hunt. for a dog that doesnt hunt aint wort a flip nickel. all you do is blow your money on dog food,
and keep the dog outside/ you will be alot healthier when you do.
