I am 5t 9" and I weigh 158 lbs. I started to work out 2 months ago and my goal is not to get bulky but to get somewhat an atheletic build. Do i need to take whey protein or any supplement to help my progress?

It would help, yes. Most whey proteins available today contain many vitamins, minerals and aminos along with a fat free form of protein. A good powder supplement will also have no sugar in it.

If you're not aiming to build a lot of muscle, you won't need a lot of protein powder as if you were a bodybuilder or powerlifter. An active person, especially someone involved in sports, would benifit from a good whey protein supplement.

Keep in mind that supplements are just that. They aren't intended as meal replacements so be sure you're getting a healthy diet with whole foods.
