Can a cat get aroused & attempt sex after being fixed? Or did the vet miss 1?

Don't laugh, Vets do miss testicles all the time, especially if they are internal like Kryptorkid testicles that are up in the abdomen. I had a cat neutered who had one removed from the abdomen, but then the vet left the one in the scrotum! It does happen, I would have the vet check to see if there is a ball in the scrotum, otherwise could be showing dominance over sister. Animals do still get aroused and attempt sex after spay and neuters though. My little dog used to hump my big dog in the forehead (both were male), My female used to hump my male, etc.

I actual have a male cat of indeterminate age, possibly 8, 9 or 10. final year 2 feral kittens have been born in my storage. At an proper age, I caught them yet one escaped some days later. the different, male, has been effectively tamed and my older cat gets on with him only nice. I usually locate them slumbering mutually and the kitten, now 14 months previous, seems to have made the older cat extra playful. My adventure of possessing a male and a woman interior the Eighteen Eighties became that they only skipped over one yet another.

Is your cat a hillbilly? Seriously though, I've had lots of male cats who were neutered and never saw them attempting to mate with other cats afterwards. It sounds like the neutering wasn't successful. Tell your vet what is going on and see what he says about it.

Yes they will still try and mate after being fixed. Our cat does that, and he is fixed. He's the only one we have ever had do that though so I guess its just how some cats act.

I'm sure yes - but I'm not an expert - same with humans if a man is 'fixed' hestill can be sexually active etc - if the surgery was sucessfull there will be no further children .. I'm assuming the same applys to animals

In dogs, mounting is a dominance thing...an attempt to dominate the other animal. Perhaps it is that way in cats too.

My male cat humps a stuffed bear and he has been fixed for most of his life so I think they just get "urges" but I don't think you will get any kittens.

Your cat was not "having sex" - he was establishing his dominance over the female cat. My older cat mounts the younger one periodically - and they are both neutered males!

Nothing will happen and his sister will not get pregnant
male cats go through their hormone stages regardless if they are fixed or not

I DON'T THINK IT EVER GOES AWAY. I HAVE 3 FIXED MALE CATS AND THEY STILL ATTEMPT SEX WITH MY 3 OTHER FEMALE CATS. YOU WOULD THINK IT WOULD TAKE AWAY THE URGE. BUT I GUESS I DOESN'T.
