I recommend Proactiv. I had an acne problem that wasn't responding to any type of treatment. I saw an informmerical for Proactiv and decided to try it. It is very reasonably priced with a money back guarantee.
When Proactiv wasn't working for me after a year or so, I called their customer service to cancel and was informed that Proactiv is also offered in an Extra Strength formula that isn't advertised. They promptly switched me over to the Extra Strength formula. It has been over a year now and my skin is looking great!
When my teenage nephew starting breaking out, I had him try Proactiv and now he uses it everyday. His breakouts are under control and his skin looks great.
If you think this is something you'd like to try, go to www.proactiv.com to order. I've also seen a Proactiv kiosk at the mall. Another option is Nordstrom. They carry a higher end Proactiv skin care line. Good luck!

If you don't want laser treatment don't do it. Dad isn't the one that has to live with the acne or the results of the laser treatment whether they are good or bad. if you are a teen chances are it will improve with age anyway and if you aren't, acne is just a part of life for some people. I never had acne until after i had children not even as a teen and then after having children i started having problems with it. Mine problems with it are not as bad as some peoples. I find either going without make up or using Bare Minerals make up helps. Bare Minerals make up is a bit expensive to get in to using but it leaves a great look and last like way longer than most of the rest so basically you end up breaking about even by using it. Most of it is in lose powder and it takes a bit of getting use to using it though. there are also many natural ways to treat acne that don't burn so bad and will help as much as anything else does.

I don't think you are being hard headed at all. Some people just suffer breakouts no matter what they do, and I often wondered if perhaps all the lotions and potions don't do just as much harm as good. I think if you are doing a good cleansing, watch the makeup, and do a steam facial once a week, you may still break out, but at least you aren't doing anything nasty to your skin. I can't say I blame you for not wanting a laser pointed at your face. Speaking as a parent, I can feel for your dad wanting to do whatever it takes to help you, but maybe it's time for a heart to heart with him. If none of it is really helping, maybe it's time to just wait for it to pass on it's own. It usually does for most people, even those with really really bad acne. You might end up with a few scars, but if you can live with it, then surely he can. And at least you can get the scars erased once it's all over and done with. That is still a laser, but at least it is for a limited time and area. I say do what you can reasonably and comfortably do, and let go. Talk to dad, and see if he can't understand your reasons. If all else fails, ask him if it's you he loves or your skin? I'm sure if you put it out point blank, he'll come to see your point.

Right now my skin is perfectly clear, for the first time in 3 years. It's been about 9 weeks and all my acne is gone. It is such a great feeling to wake up with clear skin.

you knoweven sweating causes your skin to become oily, and even having not washed your hands for 3 hours causes bactiria, and even from being active inside or outside stirs up bactiria, why dont you try to wash hands, and than wash face with a simple soap, every couple hours, and do it for a week, and even splash water in your face, and make sure to wash hands first, and than when you wash your fac with soap close eyes, and scrub hard, and try it like that for a week, see if there are any improvments, and if nothing, go to the pharmacy, and try out some over the counter acne formulas, maybe its not working, because its different formulas for each diff, medicine, and another thing you could look out for is that when you start to have a bad break out, trace your steps back, til it was normal, without your face breaking out...and see what you did, or even what you touched your face with, maybe its something around you making you have acne, cause i find the face is more vunrable to break out than it is the rest of the bodyand when you trace your steps, look back at everything, leave no mental block untwined loook at what you eat, and sometimes even pop, can cause it, and even dirty pillows that havent been cleaned, and something else s to clean and wash the whole house get all the bactiria, out, of your living quarters, and let your skin breath the clean air. even hats are a bactiria trap, you head sweats, and you keep putting a hat on, and it builds up bactiria, so i gues, try that for a week, and see you might just find out that it could help you finally get rid of it. hopefully you understand me, and hopefully it helps you......best of luck with getting rid of your acne !
and laser treatment, i see as a waste of money, say you get rid of some of the acne, and than around where the acne is, it starts back, than what another laser treatment,,,,,well talk to your doctor, about what if its bactiria, around your lifestyle, and she or he can tell you more.....

I cannot comment on the treatments that you have done since they are out of my experience. This is my experience of acne: My naturopath told me I had dermatological diabetes. My skin was so sensitive to sugar, even natural sugar, that it would break out from that. I cut out alot of sugar and drank more water. I also take a supplement of Zinc, Vit E and selenium.
I hope you find your answer.

Not at all. It's YOUR skin & you have the right to deal with it however you please. You've run around mad trying everything to improve it over the past few years to no avail. Your skin is the way it is for a reason. It's great that you're accepting it & not getting upset & depressed about it. I'm sure you have a beautiful face :)

ok, i will clarify it to you. There are distinctive ranges of zits. some that are in basic terms flat pimples and blackheads, each and every so often great pores. yet then you definately've have been given the folk with zits thoroughly masking their face. huge, painful, contaminated zits and cysts (i'm no longer considered one of them, in spite of the shown fact that I do have zits.) And, to handle the floor, you'll be careful which you do in basic terms adequate to make a distinction, yet no longer plenty which you're overdoing it. and all people's epidermis is distinctive. you are able to over wash or under wash. Over medicate or under medicate. Use in basic terms undemanding water to bathe your epidermis or continuously use scrubs, mask, toners, creams and moisturizers. Then some people have gentle epidermis. the floor which could no longer take care of benzoyl peroxide and such products. They positioned that stuff on their epidermis and it starts to burn, or makes the breakouts worse. some products paintings for persons, some cause them to harm out extra, some paintings for a mutually as yet then you definately initiate breaking out horribly. some make you harm out before everything, then sparkling you up. some overdry, some over-moisturize. So, in fact, what those with zits attempt to do is locate the product it quite is in basic terms precise for his or her epidermis. some do no longer even use over the counter products. some use at domicile issues, organic issues. Non-chemical issues. there are such countless products, suggestions, and issues you are able to take internally, that it is sort of demanding to detect in basic terms the the perfect option one. the single which will sparkling you up for stable, the single which will quite help. it is extra stable than you think of. and because i'm assuming which you have have been given in no way had zits before, then you definately does not probable have an concept of it. Which, i assume is expectable. yet whilst each and every person who has zits ought to "so very surely" do away with it, then, have faith me, they might.

Try AcneFree from Walgreens or WalMart. It's one of those three-part medications; cleanser, toner, lotion. I use just the lotion, and it doesn't burn or anything and works better than other things I've tried.
