I’ve worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant for four years now in a major hospital, taken a full work schedule, living on my own, and taken a full pre-nursing school schedule.. naturally stress is an issue
The following is the symptoms I have described to my primary physician and diagnosis:

1.) Racing heart= cleared EKG test (because I was having a knee surgery) and my doctor decided I must have acid reflux disease…? Med’s didn’t change a thing
2.) tightness in my chest= naturally I must have asthma, inhalers made no difference nor did these oral steroid meds
3.) same symptoms… again = now my doctor seems to think I’m finally going crazy or I’m a paranoid freak and gave me Ambien to help me sleep and anti-anxiety meds to help me with everything else.

Any help would be great, I’m on the internet and desperate to find out that I’m not loosing my mind..

I don't think you're losing your mind, but you sound like you're suffering from stress. I would encourage you to see a counselor. If you've treated the physical symptoms and haven't found any relief, it's reasonable to move on and see if getting some help with stress makes you feel better. Your MD is trying to help by prescribing medication but people in the mental health field would have more training in dealing with anxiety and stress. Don't put yourself down for being stressed. With your schedule, anyone would be! Also, our ability to deal with stress can fluctuate over time; sometimes we can handle it and other times we can't. It's not a reflection on you. It's not a weakness. It just is. Do right by yourself and keep looking for answers. Hang in there :-)

It could be anxiety/panic attacks, as what each person may experience varies. I have been diagnosed with GAD (generalized anxiety disorder) and it took a long time to get to that diagnosis too! Many ER visits, Dr.'s ect. I have "heart racing symptoms, as well as the chest pain, ears ringing, blurred vision, dizziness, headaches, and other symptoms to the point where I was physically ill because of it. I would suggest that you see a Dr. and if you get no results I would consult with a psychiatrist. Also when you start to feel this way take deep breaths, and think of omething that makes you happy, or keep repeating a calming phrase over and over. I hope you find the cause and get well soon. If you find it is anxiety, I always felt better by talking to someone who understood what I was going thru.

you probly dont want MY opinion since im not exactly an expert on health but
it all seems to be mostly about stress. youre definitely not crazy.
the part about you driving to school sounds like a seizure...but most of it sounds like a panic attack.
i never had the blurred vision but i did have tightness in my chest & heart pounding when i had a panic attack (went to the psychiatrist for it) so maybe mine wasnt as extreme. blurred vision might be the more extreme case.
but hopefully the meds should calm you down...in the meantime take it easy and spend more time during leisure activities. maybe take a walk to clear your head, relax in bed, watch a little tv, listen to some soft music...

if you can take a vacation from work but if not make sure when you get home that you get plenty of rest, be careful about your diet and spend enough time doing relaxing activities.

Hello, I think I can help you.
I had the same symptoms last year. They came on suddenly and I thought I was about to die any time for over a year.
I took panic attach meds but like you. nothing could be found wrong with my heart etc.
Then one day my husband was looking at my multi vitamin container and the "content" list.
Included was a tiny amount of Iodine and I'm allergic to that.
The day I stopped that vitamin tablet all my awful troubles stopped too.
So, my help to you would be to check everything you have been in the habit of taking since you have been unwell.
If nothing is obvious to you then maybe ask to be checked for allergies and check again!
Cheers, and good luck. I know what you are going through.

you are not crazy, you are over worked and are finally breaking down from all of your hard work, schooling and stress.give the meds a chance to work. as the meds help calm your system down, everything wont seem as bad,and you will become calmer! anxiety attacks are common in people that work as hard as you do! YOU ARE NOT CRAZY!

You're not crazy, just overworked; and you need to destress. Are you taking care of your nutrition? What about doing some swimming, or walking, and get together with some friends for a good laugh.
