The gospels as well as the rest of the New Testament were not written yet during the time that Jesus lived. He was a Jew, and therefore, he followed the laws of the Torah (the first five books of the Old Testament).

The various books/writings that make up the modern Bible were selected by various groups of men (mostly priests) at certain times. The first compilation was in Greek. Then Latin. Then the various European languages. The first official English translation was the King James version, which is still used by many people today.

Catholics recognize the Apocrypha as part of the Old Testament. Protestants do not recognize the Apocrypha as holy writings.

During the time of Jesus, the entire Hebrew Bible (the OT) was already available in the Jewish synagogues. There is no one human individual who compiled the books of the Hebrew Bible. They were recognised by the people of Israel as authoritative from God. It is the same with the Gospels. Do not fall for the Da Vinci nonsense that someone or some council voted for the Gospels. It was never done this way. It is the collective decision of the church through the first few centuries that was officially recognised in the 4th century.

Jesus quoted from the "Scriptures" as they were called. King James put together the books and translated them to English. I believe with all my heart he was inspired and led by God to do it though. I wonder too why some books did not make it. I started seeing a man named Tobias or Toby and when researching his name I found there was the Book of Tobias that never made it into the Bible. But I think it's used in the Catholic Bible or something? Odd.

The New Testament is comprised of the life and time of Jesus and events that followed Him. So no it is not what He preached from. The Holy Spirit gave to Holy men of God what to say and what not to say in the compilation of the Bible. May God Bless U.

As moses had the ten commandment, Jesus also received the Gospel, but unfortunately this is seen nowhere, the Gospels you have infront of you nowadays are fabricated long after the disciples were gone.

Not very much. He read from the book of Isaiah about his mission (Luke 4, 16-30). The other times he quoted from the Torah was to answer questions. Examples: divorce, sabbath, food, great commandment.
Peace and every blessing!

Yes, He read from the Old Testament. They had scrolls that they read from when Jesus walked the earth I believe. What's interesting is that the scroll is what God hands to Jesus who was the only one worthy to open the scroll which contains the judgements at the Tribulation period . Read Revelation.

That is the fight today.......why? For Revelation 22 alone tells us not to change or alter the word.

I myself have been on a mission to find a "true" bible...and as close as I've seen, the Book of YAHWEH. But still researching. HIS name was removed from American Bibles in 1929-1930.

The Bible was put together after Yashua, YAHWEH is who choose who to write.
