You are speaking of the story of the Sons of Man in Genesis. Some Christians interpret that passage in that way, others do not. There is not enough evidence in either direction to be firm about it.

Genesis 6
2_That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose
3_And the Lord said, "My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be a hundred and twenty years.
4_There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown KJV
the word translated sons(vs2&4) means from
angels as humans are from God.
this word is also in Job 1:6"when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan came also among the"
it makes sense that the sons of God are angels not human
4 The Nephilim were on the earth in those days. That was when the sons of God went to the daughters of men and had children by them. The Nephilim were the heroes of long ago. They were famous men. Nephilim were also on the earth later on. NIRV
Except in Job and these verses in Genesis
the phrase 'sons of God' does not appear until the New Testament when it refers to Christians.

You're right. The Bible speaks of the sons of God (angels) noticing the daughters of men and taking wives for themselves. Their offspring were the Nephilim, meaning those that cause others to fall down. They were apparently violent and very large and strong. I think its very interesting that other cultures, while not entirely accurate, refer to these giants. In Greek mythology, there are many references of half-divine, half-human "heroes."
The Nephilim were hybrids of angels and humans. As in the case with all hybrids they were large, unusually strong, always male, and sterile. For example, mules are hybrids and they exhibit these characteristics.
However, when God brought about the flood, these Nephilim were destroyed along with all the other wicked people of Noah's day. But their fathers are still around today, known in the Bible as demons.
Hope this helps.

As the other person said, some people interpret it that way. The problem with that interpretation is that Scripture never gives to fallen angels that kind of capability or remotely hints at it. The idea that an angel could impregnate a human woman goes against the whole of Scripture. I think the better interpretation is that intermarriage was taking place between righteous men and unrighteous women (much like Samson and Delilah) and the result was evil children. That idea IS taught throughout Scripture.

The Bible says that angels made human bodies for themselves in order to have sex with human women and their children were hybrid giants who were bullys and helped to make the world of Noah's day a violent one. These children were all destroyed in the flood as well as the bodies that these disobedient angels made and they were unable to do this anymore. These angels, like Satan, are now reserved for destruction because of their acting contrary to God's will.

The Nephilim are the offspring of human women and angels. Their story is told in the non-canonical Book of Enoch and the Book of Jubilees. According to the Book of Jubilees the purpose of the great flood was to rid the world of the Nephilim.

this has been an interesting topic in religious circles for centuries. the prevailing belief is that angles fallen or not slept with mortals. many theologians believe that this intermixing polluted humans creating the extreme internal ethical conflict within many of us. to many religious educators this is the reason as to why the earth is perfect yet man is not.

Yes. They were the Nephilim, litterally meaning "the fallen ones". They took up wives with humans as they saw them as beautiful.
Offspring would be those like Golliath, Zeus, and all the other characters and gods you hear of back then.
Nephilim are the 1/3rd that left Heaven with Lucifer.
