No.1 for best character and No.4 for worst (Justify ur ans)

Four people are in a boat - The boyfriend, the girlfriend, an old man and the boatman.

In a storm at sea the BF falls off the rocky boat. The other three get to an island. The BF has swam to a nearby island.

The next morning the GF pleads with the boatman to ferry her across to her BF. The boatman says that he will not unless she sleeps with him. First she refuses, then she goes to the old man for advice.

The old man said -i will support you, with whatever decision you take

The GF out of desparation to be with her BF, sleeps with the boatman.

He ferries her across to her BF. She runs to him and they hug and kiss. Then she tells him what happened with the boatman.

He pushes her away, and calls her a cheat. He walks away from her, leaving her there crying.

After somtime, he comes back and tells her - It's ok, i will accept you

Think within the box - everything you need to know is in the story.

1. The boyfriend - The boyfriend was justified to be angry. Such anger is understandable. The reason his character is good, however, is because he took time to think the situation over and ended up forgiving the girlfriend. He didn't hit her or verbally abuse her like many lesser men would have.

2. The girlfriend - The girlfriend had good intentions, but made the conscious choice to cheat on her boyfriend. Admittedly, it was a most unfortunate scenario, but that doesn't completely forgive her of her wrongdoings.

3. The boatman - This guy is a real piece of work. As much as it can be admired to take advantage of a situation, this is unethical behavior. Only a real dick would stoop to a level such as this.

4. The old man - He was completely useless. He should have given advice rather than provide a pointless answer like "I'll support you no matter what." He could have changed the outcome of the whole story easily, but he didn't.

well obviously the worst is the bpoatman, for he does not see beyond his own wants and desires, regardless of the situation. The other 3 are not so easy.... the girl is obviously a woman of passion and cares deeply for her boyfriend, but seems to settle for the easiest answer to the problem... the old man could be seen as supportive and unjudging, or possible unable to stand for something and be decisive about anything and afriad to become involved and protect the girl when she needs it most. The boyfriend seems to be quick to temper and judges the girl harshly and unappreciative of the sacrifices that she has given to be with him. He comes back, but not because he understands or forgives her... But if i had to choose the numbers it would be boatman 4, elder man 3, boyfriend 2 and the girlfriend 1.

the girlfriend is the most complex .. the old man is the deepest .. the ferry man is a loser .. and the boyfriend is understanding
