You've Got Mail?

I am a Japanese. We are learning English by using the scripts of movie You've Got Mail. In the dialogue "And in a week it will be something really depressing ... like a Baby Gap.", said Kathleen. I know Baby Gap is kids' clothing store. Why does Kathleen want to mean?

i think she means that gap is an over commercialized store and it is bad to subject babies to that... maybe... i'm just guessing here... :o)

In America, Baby Gap can be a saying for someone who finds that they are too fat to wear a particular outfit, thereby making the woman sad or depressed. So in this instance, she is probably saying that it's depressing for a woman to try on an old outfit and realize that they are a lot heavier than they used to be.
