The bible is a symbolic mechanism to teach life lessons. The bible< and that is anyones bible, was written by humans right.
The "word" is nothing but an ancient form of Aesop's fables.

See, thats what I mean, why are some people quoting scriptures. Speak for yourself. Please. Maybe learn fron the scriptures if you need to the way a child learns from virtuous fairy tales. bu then if you need live your life by the virues and stop quoting scriptures as if you dont have abrain to think for yourself.

And to.."in the begining there was God. How do you know, because another human said so. Shoot...Thousand years from now,people are gonna think Tupac is the savior, based on the Enquirer, Brittney Spears might be the version of Mary Magdeline..c'mon people!

Weak people have the need to believe there is something larger than themselves to rely on.
God should be a personal experience that you have witnessed, not blindly believing in words written by sheephearders 2000 years ago.
The main reason people are so screwed up with religion, is it is a easy way for governments to control large groups and there is a lot of money involved.
If religion were real, there would be no need for expensive buildings to meet in and the religions would not ask money from you, what could they need it for?
The church would rather take my money than let me give it to a person in need.
People who hide behind religion and ask for your money need to stop worshiping the mighty dollar.

i think Freud's "oceanic feeling" explains it pretty well. People love to belong to things. symbolic life lessons that everyone can learn and apply to themself takes away from the sense of community that religious "truth" can provide.
