Hangul is very easy to learn. My husband and I moved to Korea 4 months ago and we can both read Hangul. There are some really great websites that will teach you Hangul. Learning to read is very easy, learning to speak is slightly more difficult, however Korean is probably the easiest Asian language to learn.
This is my favorite site: http://www.aeriagloris.com/LearnKorean/
Honestly, if you can devote two hours of hard study to this site you'll be able to "read" Hangul. You won't know what all the words mean, but you'll be able to sound them out.
We can't read novels or anything (because even though we can sound the words out we don't know what they mean), but we can read street signs, menus, directions, store signs etc.
Hope this helps!
Anyong Haseyo!

According to the US foreign Service Institute, learning Korean takes 2200 hours or 88 weeks of work, which makes it as hard as Mandarin, Cantonese, Arabic or Japanese. to give you an idea: spanish, french, dutch, swedish, frisian, norwegian, danish, italian, afrikaans each take 600 hours, Esperanto takes 150 If Hangul is the alphabet, as far as I've heard it's a marvel of logic and simplicity, as Korean is spelt very phonetically

Very few people realize it, but Hangeul (hangul) is actually considered to be the EASIEST writing system in the world to learn! It's even easier to learn than our English alphabet!
Speaking and comprehending Korean however, is more difficult, because it's a SOV (subject-object-verb) language.

easy to learn? actually i think it's difficulty. - i'm a korean.
it's diffrent from english.
just u want to study a little, it doesn matter. but not, think again. i think japanese more easier. i consider japanese is one of easy to learn languages.
if u have just one wrong pronouciation , sometimes it will be a very rude apptitude.
a term of respect of korean language is developed so much.
and it's very important in our daily life.
it maybe difficult. lol

Yes, it is very easy. I began studying it last semester and it took only a couple days to get it down pat.
