I am pretty upset that my neighbor and his family park their cars in my driveway enough that it stops me from moving into my driveway sometimes. They know I don't use my garage so I think that is why they encroach into my driveway but I think it is rude. Should I leave notes, confront the neighbor, threaten to tow their car or strategically position nails. Just because they see my car encroaching in my own driveway doesn't give them the right to do the same. I don't get into their driveway. I think they should reverse a bit and encroach in their own driveway I think. Please help. These neighbors are also the type who don't have much to lose if you know what I mean. I told one of the them once to move their car back and they did so right away but it still happens.

Thanks for all the responses, the problem really is that they are the type that hang around the front house and brag about getting into fights and gang banging. I feel sort of on the defensive with them because of this. They also play loud music which causes the Windows to vibrate. I wish I could just buy their house and kick them out since they are renters.
I would hate to have any negative confrontation with them since I don't want trouble considering the type of people they are. But I think they are reasonable enough were I can talk.

Tell them face to face that you want your driveway vacant and that you really would appreciate that if they needed to use it then ask first. But tell them that you really think they shouldn't do that. I had a neighbor park his car in my driveway one time and I told him to his face I didn't want that, and he never did it again. Find courage to tell them that or else they will do it all the time.

Just tell them and be nice about it but firm. Make sure that they understand that this is your driveway and it is for your car not theirs. If it continues call a tow truck and have it towed. Do not threaten them, just do it. Next time they will think twice before using someone elses property especially after they have been asked not to do so. If they are confrontational about it, don't argue with stupidity, just turn around and call the police. They will get the message. No harm, no foul!! Good luck!!!

Start using your garage. Legally, they can't block it. And your car will be safer in a garage, especially if both are locked, than it will in the drive. Fix whatever is wrong with the garage, and use it. And when they block it with their car, you have legal grounds to call the cops. Hey, I need my car, get yours from in front of my garage might work .
It is called intimidation. The loud music, the bragging talk, the parking their car in your drive, they know you will not do anything. And maybe you shouldn't.
I do not subcribe to the following tactic, but it worked for one questioner. Buy an old junker car, and park it in the driveway. You win. They can't park there. But neither can you or your company.

wait til they are blasting there music, and are parked in your driveway, call the police as a noise complaint, and an abbonded (sry cant spell) car in your driveway. if they get mad, then hey, now the police will know there was a problem, and then u contact the owners of the house that they are renting from and show them the police report, and ask them to please to somtthing u are tired of it.. Or before going to the police u can try to talk to the owner of the house. my father had a problem very close to this and he was afraid to call the police, the guys next to him used to block our car in, i went with the nails, that i dont kno how they got there, after a few times if that and sugar in the gas tank they finally got the hint!!!!

I think the best way to handle this problem is to simply have a conversation with them and let them know how it makes you feel. Keep in mind it is not always what we say but how we say it. Just go to them and speak with them(like you would want someone to speak to you if you were doing something that annoyed them and you were unaware of it). Like you said before, the time you did say something to them, they moved it right away. The fact that they did that but yet continue to violate your space lets me know that they are either unaware or don't care. So try just telling them first. If that doesn't work, then if I were you, I would notify the authorities.Somehow I feel that the talk from you will suffice. May God Bless U.

you probably did properly via asking the neighbor to go his motor vehicle, and the neighbor became attempting to make amends with the wine. The canines bite is a distinctive tale, regardless no count number if it rather is a bull mastiff or a cockapoo. If he became of their backyard, then it is one among those self upkeep issues, yet whilst he became in a public by fare and became bitten the animal could be grew to become in for viciousness. as a techniques using fact the over reacting section, do you mean with regards to the parking subject or the canines. If the canines, lower back, it relies upon on if the canines became unattended working the community or if it became tied and in it rather is very own components. If he became speaking with regards to the parking subject, then he must be reminded approximately parking policies and point out that in the time of your opinion over-reacting is once you have the motor vehicle towed.

If it's in your driveway consistently, put up a sign that announces that this is private parking, and that unauthorized vehicles will be subject to being towed. Then, if they still do it, have it towed. You don't owe your neighbor a parking place just because you don't use it.

I am quite sure that you have familiarized yourself with the fact that this is not the only problem you are likely to have with your neighbors or their acquaintances. They have invaded your property rights and the fear of retaliation should not prevent you from speaking with the head-of-the household or notifying the authorities. Today it is the invasion of your driveway, tomorrow it could be your house.

DO NOT WRITE A NOTE!!! this is the sure fire way to really piss off your neighbors. just go stroll over there when they are outside and say something like, "hey can you guys just make sure you stay over on your side so i can get in my driveway?" If you dont make a big deal out of it, they probably won't either.

First of all have a talk with a police officer, ask for an advise on the situation and if that does not work then take drastic action. Do it in a polite way.
