Every feeding ,you can use a warm, wet paper towel to gently massage or wipe the anal and urinary openings rubbing the tummy wont usually help as the mother licks there anal and urinary opening to stimulate the pup to go potty. Dry the puppy after each time, and be gentle so you do not irritate the anal area.To successfully raise an orphan one must consider:Nutrition and weaning ,Sanitation ,Temperature and humidity ,Disease prevention ,Nurture and socialization .

Usually they have a small one after each feeding. Feed then gently massage his belly very slowly. The mother usually licks their belly to stimulate digestion so you must do this. They should go shortly after that. How cute and how great of you to go to all of this trouble - he'll be your friend for life!

a lot...like at least once or twice a day. you should rub their anus gently with a warm washcloth to make sure they poop at least twice a day. their poop should be fairly soft too.
