Having another dependent may put you in a category that would make you eligible for assisted living expenses, etc. Call the Welfare Office. You can claim him as a dependent on your taxes.
We don't know the reasons for his wanting this...but in any case set down some house rules and respect one another. 14 is a difficult age and his reasons for moving should be valid...you don't want any danger to come to your family. Make sure this move is beneficial to both of you and it should work out. Good luck to each of you.

You didn't give a reason why he wants to move in with you.

Do you have parents?

Does it look like he would have more fun and less supervision if he lives with you?

Is he being rebellious at home because he is doing things your parents don't approve of?

If you are working, will he be supervised after school. This is the age that kids need very strict guidelines.

Your parents are the responsible party.

If you get government assistance for him and you have parents, there will be some complications as far as getting financial help.

Talk to your parents, assuming they are legally responsible for him.

The cost for a 14 year old boy is quite expensive. They are growing by leaps and bounds. They eat like a horse and grow out of there cloths often. They have school lunch, extracurricular activities etc.etc. that are costly.

Unless there is a very good reason and you can get financial help, you should think twice.

If you can't fulfill his needs, you may not be the best person to take care of him.

I wish I knew more about your situation.

Contact your state Human Services in your area. They are the ones that will be helping with financial aid and see if you will qualify for help.

Your first priority is your sweet little 18 month old baby.

I wish you the best in this endeavor.

Check around with the state department is really all you can do. Until then he's gonna have to take his share of the household's work to lighten up your work and trust me thatll help a lot during tight times when you really need that extra help in dishes or w.e. You'll have to be the strong one and the leader so keep your head up and make smart decisions as your two followers are watching your every move now. Good Luck

I believe that you can get some type of child subsidy from the state. If I was you, I would try to go for every avenue to get my brother--remember family is important and also at his age--he is impressionable. You do want whats best for him--don't you? Since he is 14, in another 2 years he will be old enough for to get a part-time job. Also he can get a summer job as long as he fall in whatever guidelines your state has set up. It sounds like you want to have him as a part of your household. Times might be tough, but when you look back you'll realize that it was worth it all. Keep your head up and good luck!

centrelink should be able to help you get financial grounds, also maintenance from the babys father . if your parents get paid for your brother they need to give you the money they are receiving,if they arent ,the parents should help you out,you are giving your brother a home and it keeps him safe and warm and most of all off the streets,

Its possible that you could get money from the state, but you'll have to go to the social security office or the welfare office to find out.
