Not too sure which is the most popular but when they serve meals, there is always a small dish of Kimchi (marinated cabbage). If you are going to Korea, you might one to try these:
1. Barbecue bulgogi (beef)
2. Spicy pork soup, very tasty
3. Bimbim bap (rice with vegetables and meat)
4. Korean chicken ginseng soup stuff with rice inside the chicken, quite heaty if your body able to take it.

While kimchi is at every meal (and you grow to love it!), Kimchi Chige is the dish that consistently comes out on top of polls in Korea about favorite foods. It is a kind of spicy stew with, well, kimchi and then pork, tofu, onions, chili powder, some other spices. Eaten very spicy and very hot. It's often served in a metal bowl that keeps it really hot. You eat it with rice and side dishes which means more kimchi and some other yummy things.

Have to try:
Bulgogi. - It's beef with rice.
Bibimbap - Mixed rice with beef and lotsa other veg.
Grilled/barbeque pork - Yum yum.
If you're eating in a restaurant in korea, you don't have to order kimchi. It's a side dish that comes with anything or everything you order. I myself don't like kimchi, but you can try it~
Oh ya, there is something which is sold at road side stores or in restaurants. It's called dokpoki.. It's a rice cake dish, it's spicy though.. Nice~

Kimchi, Its really yummy and you can eat it with anything (coming from my perspective). In korea you have kimchi with every meal. But for some reason foreigners tend not to like the smell, but it smells great to me. You really should try it out if you havent yet, you will enjoy it.

ALL HAIL KIMCHI!
I have been in Korea 4 months and not once have I had a meal that didn't feature kimchi and pickled radish.
You also have a lot of stews, mando guk, kimchi jigae etc. And lots of "galbi" (barbeque). My personal favorite is samgyupsal... mmm... or shabu shabu.
There's actually a kimchi festival in the city of Gwangju.

Cannot live without kimchi!!
I can skip any dish, even the rice, but if I skip kimchi one day I feel like I'm sick. Totally addicted.

definately kimchi! it's basically fermented cabbage is spicy sauce. kimchi is authentic korean cusine that (in the old days) went with every meal. i've tried it and it tastes pretty good, i believe it's an aquired taste that gets better over time.

what is reallt gros though is that they eat fried bugs on the street-they fry them in front of you and eat them like popcorn-yuck-but their is also really good food over there
