Im thinking of going to college in atlanta and i wanted to know were is like the best place to live. keep in mind that i am young and i dont want to live in no boring place i wanna be around a good area..with resturants,entertainment...etc...

I went to Clark Atlanta I came from Ohio. Campus crime was horrible dead bodies in ditches, homelessness was ridiculous. So sophomore year I moved off campus to Marietta off windy hill rd. It was a wonderful area cumberland mall is right down the street and centrally located in marietta, the restaurants and access to grocery stores were wonderful too I used to walk alot and felt safe. You can catch CCT into the real city if you'd like but other than school you may really have no reason. Vegas Nights a club was right down the way too and I am young like you so I wanted to be out and on the town. Marietta may be better than Dekalb county. Some areas like they said are really bad...listen to all the songs with people reppin decatur....yeah it's not the greatest. I would catch the train to my friend's house and was paranoid, watching everything and everyone. It wasn't like that in Marietta. Check out marietta too okay.

Decatur is one of the nicer parts of Atlanta, in my opinion. It's seems like a small town placed in the center of a huge city. Nice restaurants and shops that will keep you coming back.

If you stick to the City of Decatur area, you'll be fine, but the residential Decatur is a mess, personally, i worked there but did not live there. I loved the City of Decatur though, it's small, pretty and trendy.

NO. If you live in north Decatur, Near Clairmont/North Druid and by orth Delkab mall its not bad. My boyfriend's family has lived there since she moved to the states.. But I hear that the bad part of decatur is close to downtown (memorial highway..etc) is bad but i never been out there to know for myself

You ought to look at midtown, Virgina Highlands area. Of course the whole Atlanta area is full of crime. On the good side of Atlanta there are a lot of good churches.

Decatur is pretty cool. My wife works there and she hasn't had any problems.
