a motorcycle/scooter is only as dangerous as you decide to make it. Wear a helmet, don't be stupid, watch what's going on around you. Do that, and it's not that dangerous

As long as it is treated the same as a motor vehicle, some of them can top speeds of 40 clicks. But have respect for the road and others and for God sakes wear a helmet. Most accidents that are fatal with mopeds or gas scooters is because they don't wear a helmet. I would not be convinced that a 13 year old is responsible enough for one.

they are only dangerous when they are being driven on the road. 1/2 the battle is deciding if the 8th grader is responsible enough to not be dangerous to him/herself and the rest of the drivers on the road...

VERY dangerous. The kids I see riding those are cutting in and out of traffic dangerously, passing parked cars too closely, and have no clue about what's going on around them.

u have to trust ur child. i dont think they are any less safer than bikes. in cleveland, where im from, the police enforce the law to the fullest
