me and this guy have been like this for 8 months we get in a fight and say we will never talk to each other again and then after a few weeks we are back to seeing each other again.....this keeps happening over and over how do we get out of this?

Its not an absolute but typically if he wants the beni's without the real relationship he is honestly not worth your time. If you drop him and he actually cares then he may come crawling back, but don't wait around for him.

I disagree with some of the answers, friends with benifits CAN work. However, probably not in your situation. You guys have been together pretty long, and obviously have an emotional attachment. I've had a few "friends with benifits" relationships and to work the other person has to be happy with the situation also... for example can't get jealous if you're out on dates or whatever.

This concept never made sense to me and not just because I'm very selective about who I date nor the fact that I've only slept with one person- this is about men getting what they want and women being "used" under some twisted pretense. There will always be these kinds of women out there and you can continue to be one and wait for him to find a girl he really likes and get bored with you, oh wait!!! you're just there for sex so when they have an argument or he's in the mood for sex- he can pop in and out your life. I don't think you will get out of this. The key is not getting into this.

So you want to be his girlfriend im taking it! Well this is why i say friends with benefits is not smart! All you can do is be honest with him and tell him how you feel! If he blows you off move on! You have to be careful tho! Cause there is no attatchments chances are your not the only girl he has in his bed sweetie!

Stop seeing each other and move on. Friends with benefits never works out because someone always gets hurt and usually it is the girl. We always get attatched. So, quit fooling yourself and get a vibrator!
