4 nights ago she acted like she was going to barf, and we rushed her outside and she didn't. Then the next night she did the same thing, and I rushed her outside and she barfed all over the floor. ALOT of barf. Then the next night I was cleaning up and suddenly she barfed just a little bit of barf not alot, and not wet like the first time, though. What's wrong with her???? She is eating purina one puppy chow, and she doesn't eat people food ever.

Is she eating grass? That will make them vomit (which is a good thing, because it helps an upset stomach). If she is barfing a lot and not eating grass- take her to the vet to get her checked out- there could be some underlying problem.

It can be the food that she is eating maybe try to change your pets food to something else. Grass will make that she barfed. I have a dachshund and it never happened before with my dog - so I will say try change the food if it doesn't help go and see your vet or even phone and ask for more information.
Good luck for you hope she feels better soon

Well, there could be quite a few common things that could be causing her vomiting...ranging from her eating something she shouldn't have (like out of the trash) to internal parasites (like roundworms). Because of her age, I would bet that her vomiting is due to internal parasites of some kind. Here's the bigger concern...of course you need to find out whats causing the vomiting, but because she has been vomiting for three days (and she's very young) dehydration is the bigger IMMEDIATE concern. You need to contact your Veterinarian. In the meantime, I would give her a fluid that can help with dehydration (such as Pedialite or Gatorade) and substitute the regular dog food for something that may help calm her stomach (such as rice with boiled hamburger or ground turkey). But does not substitute the need to see a Veterinarian. These suggestions are simply methods the complications that can occur from vomiting; you still need to find out the underlying concern.
Even though your not describing other symptoms I thought I should menton Parvo Virus...this is a virus that is common with unvaccinated pups (however I have seen vaccinated dogs acquire Parvo too). With Parvo you will see vomiting, diarrhea, lethargy (weakness), and sudden/rapid weight loss. This is another reason to take your puppy to the Veterinarian. Parvo KILLS VERY FAST!!! I have seen dogs pass away 48 hourse after showing symptoms. I'm not trying to scare you, but this is a very real concern.

Has she been dewormed? Roundworms can make her do that, and if she is acting normal otherwise that would be the first thing I would check on a pup this age. If she's not eating or acting dumpy, having diarrhea too, laying around and looking like she feels bad, that's more likely to be an infection of some sort. Take a stool sample to the vet, and let them take a look at her.

she may have parvo. this can be deadly!! however my dachshund had it and he survived with alot of tlc. get to the vet immediatly they can check for this virus. if you have pepto give it to her it saved my little guy. i nursed him at home with an iv from the vet antibiotics and pepto. if you can get your hands on some antidiariahl baby formula that would be good too. do not give hard food for awhile. give rice after the vomitting is done. please let me know how she does on my yahoo group Kays Dachshund Place.
