How do you feel about darker colors for summer weddings? Even if was at the end of summer? Do you think it is okay and completely up to the ones getting married? or would it actually look dumb inside of the church to have darker colors than the "norm"?

my brother is getting married in july. Their wedding colors are Plum, Wine and an Orange color. I think if you do darker colors in the summer to have a lighter complimentary color to go with it. At my own wedding my colors were Burgundy, dusty rose and champagne and I got married in middle August.

Contrary to popular belief, the wedding colors do not need to match the season in which you are getting married. You can use any colors you like. I've been to winter weddings in which the bride used several shades of pale pink for her flowers and it was gorgeous. I've also been to one where the wedding was held on an August evening, and all the bridesmaids wore a deep shade of rose. No one commented on how the bride didn't "match" her season. As a matter of fact, people will probably comment on how refreshing it is not to see pale blue or pink at a summer wedding.

I got married in June and my colors were black, white, and gold. As long as it is tastefully done it looks great. I wanted to do it like a black tie affair - have it in the evening and have a candlelit ceremony - but I opted to have a longer reception. But my wedding was still very beautiful. The bridesmaid's dress I chose was black with a white satin trim on the top and a white wedged train off the back. Lucky for you - two tone in the bridal thing right now. : ) Do what you want - you're going to go through a lot to prepare it and it will be beautiful no matter what you chose, because you chose it. Congratulations!

Darker shades in the summer could work very well. Think about it terms of the flower arrangements, for example: some of the most beautiful roses are the deeper shades, rather than the pale pastels. It's your special day -- go with what suits your sense of style, and it will be just beautiful.

It really depends on the colors.
What do you have in mind?
Deep tones rather than dark colors would work.
I've seen black used in the Spring.
Pastels in the Fall would look odd as would icy winter colors or bright Christmas reds at Easter time. Depending on what part of the country you live in, you might be able to get away with something more than someplace else.

Choose your colors by what you like not by the season. It is fine to use darker colors - makes your wedding more unique.
My daughter's best friend is finally getting married the end of June. Her wedding is a formal affair with black & white.
The female guest are to wear formal black dress & men in black tuxedos. The bridesmaids are in black dress. She will be the white of the black & white. Black table clothes with white accents. Over $82,000 into this wedding & she is doing it her way. It sounds memorable.
Make your wedding memorable for you & your fiance not to please others. Good luck & have fun!

I think dark colours are fine. My bridesmaids will be wearing black at the end of Summer, altough I am getting married outside in a garden. I say go with whatever makes you happy!

Who cares what other people think. It is up to the people who are getting married. Everybody has their own style. Summer, winter, autumn or spring it doesn't mean squat. Unless they had to wear really light dresses on a freezing cold day then that would be just cruel.

Its your wedding, so go with the colors you like or want. I doubt many people will question your colors just because its summer.
