they say everyone tells someone elses secret to 2 people. can you keep a secret? honestly do you tell? i have told my friends secrets to other friends in different states that don't know them. do you think women are notorious for this?

I am guilty of telling secrets, however I have not been caught sharing the secrets. Usually I will do something to keep the secret under wraps (such as tell someone out of state, or tell someone who actually CAN keep a secret).
I do think women are notorious for this---but that's just like women being notorious for being 'emotional'. Obviously we all know men who are the same way. I definitely know some guys who share in the same behavior.

I honestly have keep secrets. One person who I got to know very well before she died(my ex's g/f) told me some things in confidence while she was alive and even though she is no longer with us, I still have not told. I have been on the receiving end of the secret being blabbed and I wouldn't wish that on anyone(it was very personal to me) My stance is that everyone needs someone they can talk to at some point in their lives without feeling that what they say will be 'on the 6 p.m. news'. Wouldn't the world be a better place if we all felt that way. May God Bless U.

I think that really depends on the person who told you the secret, and what the secret is. Also keep in mind, the person that told you this secret, has probably told at least one other person too. Some secrets I've been told I tell to my husband. Other's I might tell my mother. Certain secrets I might tell my best friend. But it just depends on the circumstances.

Any time you discuss beyond one person - it is not secret - in the sense that people know and as you spread the information it becomes in sense public information - and yes women and men are notorious for this - its human nature

As a rule its true. But there are exceptions to prove every rule. I only tell other peoples secrets if its a harmful secret (like if they were using drugs or hurting themselves). Otherwise, I try to keep my friends trust and respect.

If the person who told me a secret asked me not to tell then I wouldn't tell anyone, to me it's not worth the loss of trust of my friends to tell someone else their juicy little secrets. Of course I have thought about it but haven't done it

Secrets will be kept if you follow what we call need to know principle.It is only then you can keep secrets secret.
