The person above me is right. Prison doesn't enhance a person's personality nor does it enhance a person's view on life. My ex is in jail and I go and visit him every week. I regret telling him that I would be there for him during his time in there because I always wonder what will happen when he gets out. Will he be mad if I have a boyfriend? Will he expect me to be his girl again? These things are confusing to me and make me crazy. I kinda don't want him to get out for these reasons. But if he's "just a friend" then write to him. But make sure he understands you are not his girl. And if you have more than five dollars send more. They are not only bored but super hungry in there too.

I think if you're a real friend, you'll write this person. Time takes a toll on a person and a friendly letter is always a comfort. People in jail need support from family and friends. It gives them hope, which is what jail takes away from you. send me his or her info, I'll write them also.

A friend of mine did that and ended up dead wrapped in a rug and shoved under a bed. How bad do you want to get to know this person. FYI they were engaged. Prison does not enhance a troubled personality.
