Personally I don't think its right to disrespect anyone. For those of you who haven't seen the news lately (that's where i heard about this). This particular radio station is encouraging all its listeners to report and make citizens arrests on people whom they think are illegal. They have gone as far as to claim they are willing to rent a bus and go out hunting for illegals to load the bus with. They claim they are just doing their duty as american citizens yet referr to all hispanics (especially those who they think are mexican) as roaches and even insulted the cameramen and female reporters from a local spanish news station who just wished to interview them by making sexist comments about the women on the air and suggesting the cameramen go do their driveway. And yet many still ask "why do they think all people against illegal immigration are racists its not about race".well people like those from this station are what make others think it is about race and lack of manners.

As others have said here, you need to provide more information when you ask a question. If what you are talking about is what other posters have said is a bus to round up illegal immigrants via citizens' arrest, I think that's a great idea and I hope it catches on all over the country! People who come to this country illegally are the FIRST ones showing disrespect to the citizens and legal immigrants of this country by defying our immigration and other laws and, as they say, you reap what you sow. Therefore, they deserve every disrespect back.

Hmm. No I haven't heard about it, until you brought it up, I don't listen to NJ radio. But this is what I found.

Flyers with the following text have been found in immigrant neighborhoods in New Jersey. La Cuca Gotcha is a play on the word 'Cucaracha', which means cockroach in Espanol... an alt name for this 'campaign' is 'Rat a Rat'.

TEXT OF FLYER:
Feb 8, 2007

New Jersey, America's most listened-to FM afternoon show, The Jersey Guys, starring Craig Carton and Ray Rossi, on WKXW NJ 101.5 FM have begun an initiative to assist in the roundup and deportation of illegal immigrants in NJ. The project entitled ' La Cuca Gotcha' is encouraging all the listeners of The Jersey Guys, popular radio show, to find and report the existence of illegal immigrants. The Jersey Guys have established three methods for concerned citizens to report the whereabouts of illegal immigrants.

1. Toll-free hotline managed by The Jersey Guys staff
2. Federal government hotlines
3. Direct email to The Jersey Guys staff

The initiative which began on Tuesday February 6 has already shown dividends with hundreds of calls to federal authorities, will commence on Saturday May 5th to coincide with Cinco de Mayo. The role is to make New Jersey safer by legally reporting and deporting illegal immigrants who have repeatedly flaunted our laws and disrespected our country's long storied history of welcoming immigrants with open arms. 'The Jersey Guys'
show is broadcast weekdays from 2-7 pm, and is heard in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Delaware.

I don't care about the disrespect issue that comes from the name of this radio station's operation. Illegals haven't earned any respect, they_are _not_supposed_to_be_here_. If they were not in the U.S. there would be no need for such operations. I think it's a great idea, and more American civilians should arm themselves, and get involved with catching illegals, and having them deported. There should be a Cuca Gotcha operation in every city in the USA.

Well Isabela, you are going to have to provide us with more information. Because I read through 101.5 FM in New Jersey's website and I found nothing relating to what you just posted. I took it a step further and called 101.5 FM in New Jersey and they too do not know what you are talking about.

Could it be that since you have less than 100 pts and have never answered a question and this is one of the two questions you posted, that you are in fact lying?

You offer no proof but yet you make just a strong statement. Kind of like all these other people who open accounts just to ask racial question to try and add fuel to the illegal alien issue by making it racial. When infact the "ILLEGAL" problem has nothing to do with RACISM.

To Nexxus K- if that is what she is referring to , HE11 I will rent a bus too, I think a "Citizen's Arrest" concept is a great Idea to rid this Country from all Illegal Aliens. But I can guarentee, my bus will have all colors of the rainbow in representation, but I have to admit I know more than 1/2 of them will be Hispanic, but that is only because their are so many more of them in this Country that are illegal, and that is the only reason.
They are not telling people to disrespect all Hispanics, they are just saying lets get rid of all the illegals. Illegals are criminals, and if a U.S. Citizen knows of a criminal why shouldn't they have the right to detain them?

That is NOT disrespectful to all hispanics living here. ALL hispanics are not ILLEGALS. You guys seem to not differentiate between Legal Immigrants and Illegal Immigrants. START to know the difference!! If you are a LEGAL-you should be the most angry of all at the ILLEGALS!

I have absolutely no idea what you are talking about in this question. When you post a question on Yahoo, you have to be a little more specific than this. WHAT New Jersey station? What are they doing? Where is some news information about it? Where are you getting the information?

First lets look at the name of the group you are talking about. Illegal Aliens. The first word Illegal means prohibited or unlawful. the second word alien means foreigner. put it together and you have unlawful foreigner. Just being here makes them unlawful, so their first act on U.S. soil is to break the law. Just the kind of people we need here. Stop the border patrols and open the gates. There's not enough law breakers here we need to import them now? I feel that since they are here illegally anything that is done to them should not be against the law. Our laws of protection and rights should only apply to our citizens and legal residents, no one else.

Since most of us won't have a clue what the station is doing,it might be a good idea to let us in on the secret so we can answer the question.

I'm assuming you're talking about operation "la cuka gotcha". The name may be distasteful, but there's nothing wrong with reporting illegal activity.

Illegal aliens deserve no respect. And disrespect is what you are showing by comparing them with the legal Hispanic citizens of this country.

Too bad I live near Hazleton. We wouldn't be able to do this. The illegal ALIENS outnumber the citizens.

I think citizens' arrests is a wonderful idea!!!!!
