Real nice (expensive): Fleming's in Scottsdale. Steakhouse, very nice. $100 or more for 2.

Nice (but not as expensive): if you want something a little different, try the Melting Pot. Its a Fondue Restaurant. You will not leave hungry. Can be as cheap as $50 for 2, or as expensive as you make it. You can get an excellent, high quality meal for $50 for 2.

Abuelo's - Mexican food - about $20 per person, upscale mexican food, and one of my favorites.

Firebirds - another steakhouse, not as good a steak as Flemings, but not quite as expensive either. Still high prices, $30 per person isn't uncommon.

You might want to be more specific about your price range and style of food you are looking for, so we can recommend better.

Really nice? Or really good?
Two suggestions....#1 Pappadeaux
and #2 Claim Jumper
If you are looking for a not so nice establishment but GREAT food, try Tee Pee (Awesome food at reasonable cost) or Red Devil (but must be the original one on E.McDowell Rd)

My husband took me to the Hyatt resort in scottsdale and they have a really authentic italian restaurant inside. Only valet, you can take a walk out by the "adult pool" which is like a greek mansion's backyard- and with dinner you get a complimentary gondola ride. YEAH like the boats they travel around in venice in. there's a boat guy that sings amazing italian songs and gives you a blanket. dinner was somewhere around $90 but nicer and more romantic (because of the gondola ride hello) than any place i've ever been.

The Cornish Pasty Co. in Tempe (University and Hardy). EVERYTHING on the menu is good. They have messed up my order several times and gave me the wrong pasty. What ever they gave me each time was still way better than any chain meal ive had. They arent up scale and most of the place is taken up by a LONG bar, but the place is still awsome.

Very Asian. Yes, the food is very good, though not the best.
