What about the morning after pill? Should you get life in prison for that? What about adoption? Should we force people to adopt when orphanages become too overcrowded? What about women who die from back-alley abortions? Should we defecate on their graves?

You've asked a question about a very sensitive subject and so you are going to get mixed opinions on how people believe others should live. I myself couldn't imagine having to go through an abortion, I've never had to take the morning after pill. But to consider it a felony? Well honestly I think it depends on the circumstances. If someone feels they are responsible enough to have sex they should be responsible enough to take care of what may come of it.

Now about adoption, the land of the free, not the land of the forced to adopt because the orphanages are over crowded.

Also the thought of defecating on anyones grave gives me the creeps. I think once someone has gone through the hardships of life, there body should be left at peace.

Well, I really am Pro Life, and do believe that the people who have made this situation occur, should have thought of what was to become before it actually occurred. Knowingly, some people are way too far into the stage, so at least I would go about setting the baby up for adoption to people who would lovingly take care of the child and give it a great place to stay. I mean it isn't the best, but it isn't better than killing a not yet born to be baby. When orphanages become over crowded I dont believe we should force people to adopt, but it would be nice if they did it on their own, because forcing them would take away the whole purpose of adoption in other words, might also lead to some mishaps as well. No, not life in Prison, but there should be some consequences for this, since, it really is killing another human being. The morning after pill is better than nothing, as long as if it is there and doesn't let the baby start forming and gaining life. The babies life begins within the 42 day of fertilization so you figure out the rest. No, we should not defecate on women who have died from back alley abortions, but we should not appreciate what they did either. Thanks for your time, and peace be upon you.

Well, this isn't in the laws and ethics section so I take it you want things from a religious/philosophical point of view. Either that or you're just out to voice yours.

Either way, what I think is that termination of pregnancy once pregnant in any form shouldn't be encouraged. Yes, the child may suffer horrible things in this life and become a mass murderer, but many people have come out from hard situations to become great people i.e. Mother Theresa, Abraham Lincoln, Benjamin Franklin, Albert Einstein. How do we know what the child will be worth really? How can one measure the potential of the child?

Whether it should be punishable by life imprisonment is not something I can answer accurately. My own personal view is that the women who go through abortion will suffer by themselves the side-effects anyway. As for the doctor, there are already malpractice rules etc. anyway.

We shouldn't force anyone to adopt because it's a relationship thing. As far as I know, no orphanage can truly be overcrowded if the ones who take care of them are dedicated to loving them. There will ALWAYS be room for one more.

I am deeply saddened that there would be deaths from back-alley abortions. These doctors should be stopped if they are incompetent. Death, unfortunately, is one of the likely side-effects from abortions, including guilt, having to keep dark secrets from loved ones.... amongst others. It's just sad.

As for the last question, I'm going nowhere near any graves you've been to, thanks.

What is the value of an innocent human life? If the fetus is not human, then abortion should be legal all the time for any reason. BUT if the fetus is a human being then there are NO reasons, even the ones that you listed above, that justify taking an innocent life. It's not just about the mother...or the father...it's about all of them...

So it all depends on what you think the value of a human being is. Peter Singer, the Bioethics Chair of Princeton University believes that abortion should be legal up until the baby is 1 month old. He posits that the baby is no less human because of Size, Level of Development, Environment or Degree of Dependency. Are any of us less human because of those things? How far does it go?
When does a human get human rights?

Nah. Since the right to choose to have an abortion is a legal right, I don't think it could count as a felony. As for forcing people to adopt, go right ahead and pick up the slack yourself. What a great person you must be to volunteer to do that. And I don't think defecating on graves is a good idea in general. Maybe that should count as a felony. That and being hateful. Nice talking to you.

To J.P.:
Only about 38% of children in foster-care get places every year. That means 62% of the years kids are still around the next year. Lets say we do away with abortion, what happens to the numbers then?

As I have said before, people really should not say that all abortions should be illegal without knowing about what they are talking about. A Miscarriage is a self induced abortion, so you wanna lock up women who's body's have decided not to hold on to the embryo?

If you don't like abortions, don't have one, otherwise let people decide for themselves.

J.P. oh yes, you are right, babies of 18 months or less get adopted quickly, what about the rest?

We men as a whole do however have this thing that we tend to do to women. We lust for them for the pleasure we can get from them, run away when they get pregnant. If she decides she can't handle having a child, we act like she is lower than dirt. If she decides to have the child we ask if it is really ours.

So this is why I say, let the woman choose. It's not the mans body that get reshaped during pregnancy, we don't get the emotional rollercoaster.

If the life of every child was so important to us, we wouldn't need foster care.

Believe me, I do not think abortion should be used as handy dandy birth control, I believe in responsible sex. I just dont see where we men who will never be pregnant get off telling women what rights they do and do not have to their own bodies.

I would go along with the morning after pill. I think partial birth abortions should be a felony. Not that many women got and died from back-alley abortions. Use other forms of birth control, and do not defecate on any one grave.

In regards to JP's comment:
There's nothing wrong with the morning after pill. It just affects the womb lining, so that an egg doesn't embed itself there. That's not abortion (or as you like to put it, "murder"), that's preventing the pregnancy in the first place. It only works up to 72 hours after intercourse, and at that stage the "baby" is indistinguishable from any other cell in the body. Anything else is personification of inanimate organic compounds.

As for the rest of JP's comment... orphanages are overcrowded. I don't know where you get your information from, but it's false.
And if that didn't make you lose credibility, your comment on "being first in line" did.

Who said anything about deficating on someones grave. We shouldn't think any less of someone if they abort. Its a tough decision, but you gotta remember that is life were talking about. Its still murder! If you cant take care of the life that God put in you, than what buisness do you have fooling around like that?
