I wonder, is it possible that everything is a dream! Why not? In what we call dreams, (that is, night dreams), we never (well, maybe sometimes) question if we're dreaming. Perhaps it's all just a continuous circle. What is reality, after all? My dreams are just as real as when I "believe" I'm not dreaming. I can even "return" to places I love most. As I fantasize, I think how exciting it would be, if we went into & out of different worlds forever! The long & endless journey....Magic!

In a poetic way of thinking and saying, I would agree that 'life is an ongoing dream...' When I say that my dream house is like this, I am dreaming and hoping to have that house, which is in my fantasy. When that dream house comes to a reality, I can say that my dream house has really come true. So dream is very much part of life, which is interwoven with positive hopes. It is different if one had a bad dream in the night! That would mean also a nightmare. At times people associate a bad experience with 'nightmare'. For example: a few years ago, I was cheated by a contractor. In as much as the problem was not solved...I lived as if I was experiencing a 'nightmare'. However, nightmares can be solved, though not that easy. Some needs a miracle! And when that miracle comes to your way, you feel like you are in a beautiful dream. Just like what happened to me. One day a stranger walked in and asked me what is happening here...with all the mess in my house. I explained to him briefly about my 'nightmare'. Then out of the blues...he said to me...I'll complete the work for you in the name of that man who did this nightmare to you. Wow! He said he'll do the work in 'his' name. What a humble man he was! He did not claim that that work would be completed in his own name. Was he an angel? All of these are dreams to me, which are part & partial of life. That's why I like that song that goes: "row, row, row your boat gently down the stream; merrily, merrily, merrily; life is but a dream".
And, when we die, we'll wake up to a greater dream, which is a life after death where there will be no more sufferings or bad dreams. All your good deeds in this present dream-life will be rewarded unconditionaly.

More than a dream, it is possible that our life as we 'live' it, has been recorded earlier in a studio & is now being played back by a very powerful & mighty (Almighty) creator just as we play a movie. You must have seen 3-D games where you wear the 3-D goggles & punch & kick an opponent you feel you are fighting but who is actually not present, and to a bystander you present a comic site, punching & kicking in the air.
Even this entire life has been simply recorded in the 'brain' & is being played back. There is no physical body present & nothing is real. An illusion has been created for us, where we feel we 'see', 'hear', 'touch' etc but which is just a program. For ex. when you hold a pen, your fingers are curled around it & even if you hold it blindfolded, just by the feel, you can identify the object you are holding as a pen. If the same sensation is created in your mind without the pen actually being present, you can still 'touch' & feel the presence of the pen. In the same way, everything we see around us has been pre-programmed. The emotions, sensations, love, hatred, injuries, death etc are all being played out in the mind. This body is just a projection of the mind & not real.

anything is possible..but the question you need to ask yourself is when we die what do we wake up to? I mean if this was true then are you telling me that everything that we feel is just an illusion. Love, happiness, anger, etc..if life really is just a dream then it would have to be one of intense feeling and emotion..i mean think of the dreams that you have now..sometimes you may wake up screaming or crying or you may fall off of your bed. What would you classify that as if life was only a dream? What would falling asleep, waking up, crying, going to school/ work be? That would mean that everything we work for in life is just a sham? Every step that we took, every breath that we breathed, every tear we shed. Could it honestly all be for nothing? And by the way..did you watch the matrix before you asked this question?

That a great question I don't have an answer, however the Aborigines from Australia think that when you are sleeping you are in reality and when you are wake it is just a dream. The Innu -i think- believe that dreams are a way to store vast amount on knowledge and a way to acquire knowledge, Voodoo priest believe the same thing but to a different extent! I personally believe that there is no one reality and that dream a vehicle for greater think that we cant understand when we are awake.

no, i highly doubt that life is a dream. the brain is quite complex, but it has been proven that dreams are recollections of certain aspects and experiences (can you imagine dreaming about something that you dont even know exists?). so how can life be a dream if we are born completely ignorant? of course, anyhting is possible, just as i could say there's a tiny pink unicorn in my brain telling me what to do at all times. probability and logic tell me otherwise, so let this make the decision for you about the dream theory. p.s. there is also a five minute theory that is similar you should look it up if interested.

Someone said this is a question of probability I believe this to be false. I believe this is obviously a question of philosophy and not science. I think this is deeper than science. Now people can only percieve science. Doesn't mean it's true just means they experience it. If I met Jesus Christ and shook his hand and he showed me every reason why I should believed he is real I still wouldn't believe it. I think the best way to go about this is to not believe in anything at all it COULD all be false. There's a reason that phrase "anything is possible" or whatever is so popular. This could all be a dream. This could all be the last moments of existence in any manifestation. When we die we could go to heaven or hell. When we die anything could happen. Just like anything can be happening right now and we're just not aware of it.
In short. **** fact.

Well, I think this is comparable to the difference between when we were in our mommy's belly and when we were born to this world except that we remember nothing of the previous situation we had.
I don't think that our current life on earth is a dream, it is factual. But when we die , new doors are opened up to us. new feelings , new sensory, new facts that we never knew, or some things change a bit, for example you see colors in a brighter way, hear sounds somehow differently because you're free from material limitations.(you might have experinced hearing sounds differently when you're about to sleep but not slept thoroughly, or may hve seen color dreams with fabulous colors you had never seen naturally). Our existence is factual I think, but the environment differs.
in short: everything that exists is reality. our dreams are also reality, only sensation differs.
Hope this is helpful.

Yes, it is possible. This could be just some dream that we are in before our life actually starts. Perhaps we are in a dream and we are supposed to learn from our mistakes in this world, then we move on to our real lives. I think that we live here, then when we die our bodies die, but our souls go on and find someone who is pregnant or dieing in a hospital and our soul gives them life. We may never know the true answer to your question, but that's my opinion.

actually i have thought about tat countless times. but don't you think if that's the case it would be a dream of an extrapollated nature becoz the physical afflictions we undergo thru we feel the pain, when someone punches you you feel pain, we are in touch with our emotional side as we are hurtbroken when others hurt our feelings.
What i think about life is that we are a very small picture of a larger picture. maybe we are just a "fruit" that is "rotting" under "somethings" bed or pillow..........and this is exemplified by the fact that our surroundings produce effluents which are slowly degrading our own environment ("The Rot")..........................all in all.............this is an idle question that no one can answer so different people choose to follow different hypothesis.........e.g. christians believe that we are a result of a creating process by a supreme being called God.
